Born on August 7, 1978 in Los Angeles, California, Cirroc Lofton is an actor best known for his role as Jake Sisko on the sci-fi series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, also his first major role on a television series. The six-foot, three-inch actor started out acting at nine years of age, and landed a regular role on the Showtime series The Hoop Life, which depicts the lives of a team of basketball player sin the fictional basketball association. He played basketball prodigy Curtis Thorpe on the series. Lofton is also a musician, and there were reports that he is putting up finishing touches on a rap music CD scheduled to be out back in September 2005. His other screen credits include a guest spot on a 2006 episode of CSI: Miami, Beethoven, Moesha, Smart Guy, and Soul Food.
