Christina Ray became known as a contestant in season two of the HGTV reality series Design Star. A native of Canton, Georgia, she studied at Thomas County Central High School, and works as an interior designer and homemaker. She says that a designer’s best friend is a digital camera, and her that own secret weapon is painters’ tape. Amongst her favorite design styles are eclectic, tropical, and European. She believes that designers should always paint their walls, while also avoiding decorating without balance. Her favorite designer is Christopher Lowell, while her favorite room to design would be a romantic bedroom.
She also says that she’s capable of painting a room with her young sons around, though she dreads having them try to finish the painting for her when she briefly steps out. Her dream project is being able to design an extraordinary space for someone poorer, without them having to spend any money at all. She also dreams of doing any show that would allow her to showcase her creativity in interior design. Apart from her work as a designer, she’s also athletic, though she’s afraid of swimming in the ocean. She has also said that her dream vacation would be anywhere tropical.
On the series Design Star, she managed to score high on a challenge but was eliminated on episode 4 of the show. Since then, she has continued to work for her own company Christina Ray Design, LLC.
