Born on June 29, 1984 in Sydney, Australia, Chris Egan is an actor who has appeared in several commercials. He has also been trained in gymnastics, singing and dancing and has been part of several Eisteddfods. Though he initially worked as a model, he gravitated towards acting, especially when he was given the chance to perform in the Glen Street production of Les Misérables and West Side Story.
In 2003, Egan moved to Los Angeles to further pursue his acting career and shortly landed the role of Nick Smith in the hit Australian TV drama, Home and Away. His first TV break, which he got at the young age of 16, eventually turned into a three-year role and earned him a nomination for a Logie (the Australian television industry awards) in the category of Most Popular New Talent.
Following his stint in Home and Away, Egan starred in the mini-series Empire and the tele-film The Prince, before landing a recurring role on the drama series Everwood as Nick Bennett. Simultaneously, he also scored roles in the big screen such as Felix Methusulah in Alpha Male and Roran in the film adaptation of Christopher Paolini's novel Eragon.
Egan was also featured in Resident Evil: Extinction, Pretty/Handsome and Virgin Territory, where he worked alongside Mischa Barton and Hayden Christensen. After several movie projects, Egan returned to the small screen to play Ben Wilson on the short-lived series Vanished and as the reluctant hero, David Shepherd, on the NBC drama series Kings.
