Chelsie is a Latin dancer born in Las Vegas, NV, and raised in Orem, UT. Hightower has worked with many world-renowned choreographers. She was a U.S. Worlds finalist in 2005 and competed on Team USA. She graduated from Timpanogos High School, and then attended Utah Valley University for a fall semester. She has also performed in musical theater across the nation.
Chelsie Hightower was eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance on July 31, 2008 along with original dance partner Mark Kanemura. She is one of four female dancers (and one of six dancers of both sexes) who never had a bottom appearance in all seasons of SYTYCD.
Chelsie joined the season 8 cast of Dancing with the Stars as a pro and is partnered with bull-riding champion Ty Murray, 7 time All Around World Rodeo Champion and Jewel's husband. Hightower joins fellow "So You Think You Can Dance" alumni Dmitry Chaplin as the newest professional dancers on the show. From a young age dancing has been a major part of Chelsie Hightower's life and she has studied all styles of dance. Her specialty is ballroom and she has trained with current and former world champions including "Dancing With The Stars" professionals Corky Ballas, Katrina Smirnoff and Louis VanAmstel.
