Canadian actress Chelan Simmons is also known for her work as a professional model and performer. She was born on October 29, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia as the middle child of their family. At the age of two, she displayed signs of being a natural performer. In 1990, she received her first movie role in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s It. This was followed by a variety of other performances, including those in Bingo, and voicing a character in TV’s Bitsy Bears.
In 2000, Chelan Simmons portrayed the character Jennifer Martin on Ratz, and was an extra in 2gether: The Series. The next year, she got a role in The Sports Pages, as well as on Special Unit 2. This was followed by her role as Amber Henson in Video Voyeur: The Susan Wilson Story. She then became known for playing Cindy in four episodes of The Sausage Factory, as well as playing Crystal on the series Edgemont. In 2002, she rose to fame for her portrayal of Helen Shyres in the TV movie remake of the horror film adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie. Simmons’ subsequent work was in Monster Island, Snakehead Terror, and two episodes of Wonderfalls. She was also recognized as Felice Chandler on the WB’s hit series Smallville. Her next projects were Zixx: Level Two, The Collector, Chupacabra Terror and The Harp. In 2005, she was cast in The Long Weekend and appeared on the TV show Supernatural as Jill. She later filmed an episode of Stargate: Atlantis and the television production called Caved In. The next year, Simmons garnered fame for playing Ashley Freund in Final Destination 3, and voiced Vivica in Dr. Dolittle 3. She also became known for her small role in the romantic comedy John Tucker Must Die, which was followed by a number of television appearances. Simmons was in Men in Trees, Psych, About a Girl and Whistler. She was also seen on Wind Chill, Ogre and Good Luck Chuck as Carol. She is best known, however, for her regular role as Hilary in the ABC Family hit program Kyle XY.
Other than acting, Chelan Simmons admits to being fond of cooking, and sightseeing while on rollerblades.
