Mother and daughter Cathy and Kristin are one of eleven pairs competing in the second batch of The Biggest Loser: Couples.
Cathy Skell, 48, is a title sales closing agent for a real estate firm, currently based in Shiocton, WI. She is very young at heart, and despite her weight, she tries her hardest to keep an active lifestyle. However, her weight problem has ballooned over the past decade, and when both her parents were hospitalized due to heart conditions, she became more compelled to lose her weight, if only to prevent her from suffering the same fate.
Kristin Steede, 28, is a business owner based in Greenville, WI. She’s struggled with her weight for most of her life, but she doesn’t let it get in the way. Now, though, that she’s married to her high school sweetheart and is raring to start a family, she realizes that her weight is the one getting in her way. Her busy lifestyle as an entrepreneur meant her health has dropped to the bottom of her priorities; her tendency to eat when she’s emotional also contributed to the problem.
Cathy and Kristin form the Purple Team, training under Bob Harper. Their vibrant personalities and competitive nature make them a team to beat in The Biggest Loser: Couples. More importantly, their commitment for each other is strong: Cathy wants to see her daughter successfully start a family, while Kristin wants to see her mother start anew and be healthy.
