Casey James

Biography

Casey James was born on January 1, 1983 in Fort Worth, TX. As a child his family feared he would get brain damage after he reacted adversely to a vaccine he took: later they realized that he has musical talent, after they found him humming before being able to talk.

Similarly, he encountered a motorcycle accident when he was 21 and was told he can't play the guitar anymore. He proved them wrong, eventually using the guitar in most of his performances on the show. He also plays the mandolin.

He joined American Idol through auditions in Denver, when he was memorably asked by the judges to take off his shirt. He was eliminated during Top 3 week.
