Biography

Canadian actress Caroline Dhavernas was born on May 15, 1978 in Montreal, Quebec. She is the daughter of two actors, Sébastien Dhavernas and Michele Deslauriers, and has a sister named Gabrielle who is also involved in the entertainment industry. The two girls are adept at dubbing voices, with Caroline starting her career at the age of eight. At the time, she could be heard on the animated series Babar. Four years later, she got her first break and starred in the movie Comme un Voleur in 1990.

Earlier appearances of Caroline Dhavernas include those in the TV series Marilyn and Zap. She was later seen on Cap Tourmente, and more shows like Urgence and Lobby. Some of her more notable projects include a leading role on 2002’s Edge of Madness and supporting roles on Out Cold and Lost and Delirious. She was also seen on an episode of the series Law and Order, although earned more fame as the central character in the critically acclaimed Wonderfalls. The series was eventually canceled by FOX, enabling her to return to more Canadian-made features. She was seen on Niagara Motel and These Girls, as well as the 2006 film Hollywoodland. The next year, she made an appearance on the docudrama Breach. Later, she obtained the lead role in the Emile Gaudreault-directed film Surviving My Mother. This was followed by the movie Passchendaele, which was written and directed by Paul Gross.

In 2009, Dhavernas was seen on The Cry of the Owl and on Father and Guns. She also portrayed character Maya Sills on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and was next seen on HBO’s miniseries The Pacific. She has also been cast on The Switch in 2010, as well as on One Last Dance and the movie adaptation of the sci-fi graphic novel Mars et Avril. Another television role of hers is the medical drama Off the Map, created by Shonda Rhimes of Grey’s Anatomy fame.

In 2013, Dhavernas became a series regular on the NBC series Hannibal.
