Carly Rose Sonenclar joined
The X Factor season 2 where she
sang "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone during the audition. The judges were amazed with her performance with Britney Spears calling her "a little diva" and L.A. Reid calling her an old soul and a star.
She survived boot camp and made it to the live shows as part of
Britney Spears' team.
Carly Rose Sonenclar impressed both Britney Spears and Will.iam at the mentor's home performing
"Brokenhearted" by Karmin. This performance got Sonenclar to the live shows.
During the
first week of live shows Carly Rose performed "Something's Got a Hold on Me" by Etta James.
Simon Cowell said it would be "criminal" if she left the competition in week one.
For the
Top 13 live show Carly Rose Sonenclar sang "It Will Rain" which was featured in
Breanking Dawn- Part 1. It was this week that
The X Factor introduced voter rankings and America voted her
number 2 in the competition, just behind
Tate Stevens.
Carly Rose Sonenclar performed "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion for the
Top 12 live show convincing
L.A. Reid that they could be "looking at the winner."
Performing with the
Top 10, Carly Rose thanked her older brother and sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." It was with that performance that she finally
took first place in the voter rankings.
Competing with the Top 8, the teen took on
Adele's "Rolling in the Deep."
Singing Justin Bieber's "As Long As You Love Me" was a solid choice for Carly Rose during the
Top 6 performances and America chose her second song, "If I Were a Boy" by Beyonce.
Carly Rose Sonenclar performed twice again during
the semifinals. This time singing "Your Song" and "Imagine" where she even played piano.
Performing in the final 3, Carly Rose
performed three times singing "Feelin' Good," "How Do I Live" and "Halleluja."
The next night Carly Rose Sonenclar came in second place.
