The sweet Cara Nicole Gosselin was born on October 8, 2000 to parents Jon and Kate Gosselin. As part of a large family, she remains quiet but still has the friendly charm that endears many towards her.
Girly at heart, Cara is one of the stars of TLC’s Jon and Kate Plus 8. The series follows the day to day life of a large family consisting of two parents and eight children. Her mother, Kate Gosselin, initially had a difficult time getting pregnant. She was met with infertility at first, leading her to undergo medical testing. She was later diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, urging the pair to seek fertility treatments. Soon, she underwent intrauterine insemination.
Soon, the couple welcomed their firstborn – fraternal twins they named Cara and Mady, who were born six minutes apart. . Three years later, the mother became pregnant once again. Five weeks went by and it was discovered in Kate Gosselin’s ultrasound that there were six sacs with seven embryos. They decided to go through with the operation, and the sextuplets were born on May 10, 2004 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
They then joined their family in the reality documentary Jon and Kate Plus 8, along with their sextuplet siblings: Alexis Faith, Hannah Joy, Aaden Jonathan, Collin Thomas, Leah Hope, and Joel Kevin. Also with them are the family’s two German Shepherds, Shooka and Nala.
In April 2009, the family encountered some problems regarding Jon Gosselini’s infidelity. He was accused of having an affair after being seen leaving a party with another woman, supposedly Deanna Hummel. Jon and Kate denied the allegations, but evidence and witnesses have surfaced supporting the case. On the fifth season of Jon and Kate Plus 8, the couple addressed the issue and explained that they are continually devoted to their children but are uncertain about their relationship. The series has since been cancelled, but the family was later filmed for Kate’s own series called Twist of Kate.
