Bryton Eric McClure, who was born on August 17, 1986 in Lakewood, California, is an Emmy Award winning actor and singer who appeared in the sitcom Family Matters as Richie Crawford. In 2004, he was cast for Devon Hamilton on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, a role he won the 2007 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for. Aside from acting, Bryton is also involved in recording music, debuting his first single on the German TV series, Stars 2000. He has also performed live in networks such as Viva, ZDF 5, Giga TV and Disney Channel. He was involved in voice acting work, playing Freddie on the animated series The Kids From Room 402, and Mowgli on The Jungle Book CD-ROM. Bryton is also the spokesperson for a number of charitable organizations. He founded his own charity in 1996, naming it RADD (Recording Artists, Actors and Athletes Against Drunk Driving) Kids. This organization was recognized and awarded by the U.S. government for outstanding youth safety work. While not acting, Bryton also enjoys racing go-karts, snowboarding, and playing video games.
Devon Hamilton is played by Bryton on the soap opera The Young and the Restless. Devon is the adopted son of Neil and Drucilla Winters, the parents of Lily Romalotti. He first appeared as a juvenile delinquent who was sentenced to community service at the Genoa City Rec Center, where he met Lily. Lily was the one to help him soften up and open up to other people around him. Lily later introduced him to her mother, who was once in his position. She became fond of him and decided to take him under her wing, convincing her husband to give her his approval. Later, Devon was diagnosed to have meningitis, a disease which almost took his life. He eventually recovered, however he lost his hearing. This event drew the family together to help him through his ordeal. Subsequently, Devon underwent a cochlear implant which helped him regain his hearing.
