Born on November 25, 1955 in Ferrara, Italy, Bruno Tonioli is a dancer and professional choreographer who serves as a judge on ABC's
Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing, the original UK version of the show. He also created DanceX, a reality competition which aims to search for the next sing and dance group in the UK.
As a choreographer, Tonioli has worked on numerous films, plays, music videos, commercials, concerts, trade and television shows. He has worked with various world renowned artists such as Elton John, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Tina Turner and Paul McCartney. He has also worked on music videos, including Sheena Easton's "Giving Up, Giving In," Wycliffe and Bono's "New Day United Nations Video for Kosovo," Culture Club's "Your Kisses are Charity," Elton John's "Please," Sting's "This Cowboy Song," Michael Jackson's "Give it to Me," Tina Turner's "Steam Windows," Rolling Stones' "One Hit," Freddie Mercury's "Great Pretender" and Paul McCartney's "Hope of Deliverance," among others.
As for his concert choreography, Tonioli worked on Tina Turner: Foreign Affair Tour, Banarama World Tour; Duran Duran World Tour, Dead or Alive, Japan and Paul Young, Europe. His film work also include Ella Enchanted, which stars Anne Hathaway, What a Girl Wants starring Amanda Bynes, Enigma with Kate Winslet, Blow Dry with Alan Rickman, Hotel Splendide starring Toni Collete, Very AnnyMary! with Rachel Griffiths and Little Voice with Jane Horrocks.
