Television personality and model Brooke Burke was born on September 8, 1971 in Hartford, Connecticut. She was raised in Tucson, Arizona and has attended both Palo Verde and Sahuaro high schools there. She later enrolled at UCLA to study broadcast journalism, but she initially wanted to pursue a career in modeling. She was signed on to numerous top modeling agencies, including the Ford Model Agency. She later appeared on commercials for Bally Fitness Clubs, Coca-Cola and Discover Card. She became known for working as a model for Venus Swimwear and Frederick’s of Hollywood.
In 1999, Brooke Burke appeared as the host of the popular travel series Wild On!, which premiered on E! Entertainment Television Channel. She also became known for appearing on the May 2001 and November 2004 issues of Playboy magazine. She later graced covers of Maxim, Stuff and FHM, even being named on Maxim’s Hot 100 list in 2006. She has lent her voice to videogames like Need for Speed: Underground 2, and to Trivial Pursuit Unhinged. In 2005, Burke became known for hosting the CBS summer reality show, Rock Star. Despite its low ratings during its first season, it was renewed for another in 2006.
Other than making appearances on television, Brooke Burke has started a company called Baboosh Baby, which offers wraps for pregnant women. She has also ventured into the field of ballroom dance, as she was slated to appear on the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars. The celebrity was paired up with Derek Hough. Joining 13 other couples, the two are set to perform various types of dances that will enable them to win the much-coveted mirror ball trophy. The show is hosted by Emmy Award-winning game show host Tom Bergeron, and features Len Goodman, Carrie Anne Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli as the panel of judges.
