Biography

Bonnie Dennison, who was born on February 15, 1989 in New York City, is best known for playing Emily Yokas on Third Watch. She started acting at a young age, appearing on PBS' Reading Rainbow when she was nine years old. She later appeared in numerous commercials and independent features, as well as a short-lived television series. She was cast on Third Watch in 2002, portraying her character until the show’s cancellation in 2005.

Before earning fame on the NBC drama, Bonnie Dennison was seen in a number of guest roles. In 2001, she was cast in an episode of 100 Centre Street. This was followed by performances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order. She later portrayed the character Hannah Grunwald in The Education of Max Bickford. Dennison’s next endeavor was the short film Love/Death/Cobain, written and directed by Austin Stark. In 2007, she was seen in the drama Black Irish, which enabled her to work with Brendan Gleeson, Michael Angarano, Tom Guiry, Emily VanCamp and Melissa Leo. That year, Dennison also joined the cast of the CBS soap opera, Guiding Light. Her character is that of Susan “Daisy” LeMay, the daughter of Dylan Lewis and Harley Cooper who was raised by adoptive parents.

Dennison is also known for her appearance in two Columbia University graduate films. These were Deros, and Persona. Her other credits include playing the role of Donna in an off-Broadway production of David Rabe’s HurlyBurly at T. Schreiber Studios. She has also worked with Meryl Streep during a reading of Mother Courage for the Public Theatre. Dennison later read the Charles Grodin play, Bill at Home, and The Bethlehem Diaries, directed by Raeda Ghazaleh. Some of the TV commercials she has appeared in are those for DanActive from Dannon and Verizon Wireless. Another appearance of hers was as an extra in Saturday Night Live.

When not acting, Bonnie Dennison enjoys baking pies, reading, watching “junkie” television and spending time with her family.
