American stand-up comedian and actor Bob Saget was born on May 17, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Best known for starring as Danny Tanner on the classic family sitcom Full House, he has also worked as a game show host, a director, a producer, and as the longtime host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. His family-friendly TV persona contrasts against his edgier stand-up comedy acts and films. He began doing stand-up comedy after studying at Temple University’s film school, though his original life ambition was to become a doctor. Saget has also appeared on other series such as Joey, The Larry Sanders Show, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Danny Tanner is played by Bob Saget in the ABC network’s television comedy series Full House. He is a widower and father of three daughters, whom he raises after his wife Pamela passes away. To help raise his daughters DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, he recruits his childhood friend Joey and his brother-in-law Jesse to help out and live with them. Danny has two main obsessions: cleaning the house, and group hugs. He also has several girlfriends throughout the series, and gets engaged to Vicky Larson, though they break it off eventually. He has worked as a sportscaster and a talk show host.

-I don't like the negative of reality tv - the 'you're no good, so you have to leave, I choose you, but I thought you really loved me.' It's all about how bad people are and I just hate that. I like Pimp my Ride where someone is helping somebody.
-I think Desperate Housewives is a pretty good show, I watch it, I like it and I don't love reality tv that much. I do watch some, I've got three daughters so we'll watch the good stuff, the fun stuff.
-Yet there are some people - Steve Allen would dissect comedy forever; he's a really funny guy, but he would love talking about comedy. I'm doing it right now and you all seem bored.
