Born on May 1, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois, Bailey Chase is a stage and television actor known for his recurring roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, As the World Turns, and Ugly Betty. Chase spent his growing up years between Barrington, Illinois and Naples, Florida. He went to high school in Jacksonville, Florida, and subsequently attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina on a full athletic scholarship. He finally graduated in 1995 with a major in psychology. He then moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, but not before training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He then joined the Improv group called The Groundlings. He now spends most of time in New York. A dog lover, Chase owns a yellow lab. He also has an older brother.
Part of Bailey Chase’s acting credits include the 1996 series Married… with Chidlren, Baywatch, USA High, Sweet Valley High, The Drew Carrey Show, and Charmed. In 1999, he bagged the role of Graham Miller on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, after landing the role of Chris Robert Hughes in the soap As The World Turns and eventually as Becks Scott on Ugly Betty. His other screen credits include Las Vegas and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2005, Watch Over Me, Criminal Minds, and Saving Grace in 2007.
In an interview, Bailey Chase said he feels blessed for the opportunities he has been given and credits his family and friends for his moderate success. As for his advice to young fans, he said they should “stay true to themselves” and “listen to others then make up your own mind based on your own conscience.” He cautioned his fans from doing or saying what they think other people want them to do or say.
