Biography

Actor and comedian Arsenio Hall was born on Februry 12, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio. As a child, he was already a performer and did magic. He was educated at Warrensville Heights High School and later attended Ohio University before transferring to Kent State University. Soon, he decided to start a career in comedy and moved to Los Angeles. He began appearing on Soul Train, before co-starring with Eddie Murphy in the 1988 film Coming to America.

Arsenio Hall rose to fame for being Alan Thicke's sidekick in the talk show Thick of the Night. He continued his appearances on talk shows, band was seen on The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers until he had his own. From 1989 to 1994, he hosted The Arsenio Hall Show. There, he interviewed the likes of Bill Clinton and other famous guests. Unfortunately, the series was canceled due to low ratings. Since then, he appeared in a short-lived sitcom called Arsenio, starred in Martial Law and Chappelle's Show, and was also in The World's Funniest Moments in 2009. He was next seen on The Jay Leno Show and Lopez Tonight. In 2012, he was cast as a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, a reality competition hosted by Donald Trump.
