Arj Barker was born Ricky Schroeder on August 12, 1974. He tried stand-up comedy when he was 19 and hasn’t looked back since. He dropped out of community college, hit the road and soon became a regular headliner at various clubs. He has performed on Letterman, The Tonight Show, Rove Live, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Conan O’Brian. He won the Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1997 and has taken his comedy act to countries like Australia, England and Sweden. He is part of the rap group Sanchez Brothers and has released a CD entitled "Issues Were Here" which was a recording from his live performance at the 1999 Sydney International Comedy Festival.
