American film and TV actress Annie Potts was born on October 28, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee. She rose to fame in the 1980s, appearing in films like Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, Who's Harry Crumb? and Pretty in Pink. Her first movie appearance was in the comedy Corvette Summer, starring alongside Mark Hamille. This earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination.
On the small screen, Annie Potts became known for playing Mary Jo Shiveley on the CBS sitcom Desigining Women, which ended in 1993. She went on to star on Any Day Now, Love & War, and Joan of Arcadia. She has also voiced characters in the animated series Johnny Bravo and Hercules, as well as playing Bo Peep in the Toy Story franchise. Other shows she has been seen in are ABC's Men in Trees, Ugly Betty, NBC's Law & Order: SVU, and the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men. Soon, she was cast as Gigi Stopper in the 2012 series GCB or Good Christian Belles. She has also debuted on Broadway, joining the cast of the award-winning play God of Carnage.
