Dutch-American actress and singer Anneliese Louise van der Pol was born on September 23, 1984 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Named after the famed World War II icon Anne Frank, Anneliese van der Pol was raised well-aware of her Jewish heritage. At the age of fifteen, she starred as Eva Peron in a 1999 Buena Park Civic Theater production of Evita, earning critical praise from the Los Angeles Times and becoming one of the youngest actresses ever for the professional role. She would later play “Laurey” in the stage musical Oklahoma! before working for the Disney Channel in the sitcom That’s So Raven.
Chelsea Daniels is played by Anneliese Louise van der Pol on Disney’s hit sitcom That’s So Raven. Though appearing to be slow and airheaded, she’s actually a smart environmentalist and one of Raven’s closest friends who know about her powers. A vegetarian who plans to work someday as a biologist, she’s known for having a lot of intelligence but little common sense, as well as her odd little statements throughout the show. Both she and Raven spend their time getting mixed up in vision-related schemes and having crushes on a lot of boys, while still staying best friends.
