British actress Angel Coulby was born in the 1980s and got bitten by the acting bug at an early age. She decided to pursue the career and trained at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh when she got older, acquiring a degree in acting. She began her career in 2001, taking on the role of Shiv in the series ‘Orrible, written and starring Johnny Vaughan.
Angel Coulby then tried out for a part in Casualty, which she got in 2002. This was followed by more minor roles, mostly on television. She was seen on the series Having It Off, the TV movie The Good Thief, and the mini-series The Second Coming. The next year, Coulby was cast as Pippa on an episode of Manchild. Her next role was in the ITV drama Making Waves, broadcast in 2004. While it didn’t obtain high ratings, it gave Coulby enough experience to push through with her acting. She found herself in a more substantial role when she got the part of Amber on the teen series As If. The half-hour comedy-drama had her play the fiancé of a major character on the show.
Later that year, Coulby found herself on six episodes of Conviction, before she worked on Holby City and the film The Jacket. She then obtained more bit roles on film, such as those in The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse and Imagine Me & You. She returned to television roles afterwards, appearing on the Doctor Who episode titled “The Girl in the Fireplace.”
From 2005 to 2006, Angel Coulby was seen playing Gillian in the series Vincent, before guest-starring on Tripping Over and The Bill. In 2007, Coulby was seen on another ITV series, titled Talk to Me, before she starred in the BBC Three sitcom The Visit. In 2008, she landed the role of Gwen on the fantasy series Merlin.
