Actress Allison Munn was born on October 7, 1974 in Columbia, South Carolina. As a child, she took dance and singing lessons at the encouragement of her mother, an elementary teacher. She began appearing in local theater plays as a child, and after graduating from the College of Charleston, she moved to New York, where she appeared in the off-Broadway hit, The Fantasticks. After appearing in other plays, she moved to Los Angeles.
At the same time, Munn began taking roles on film and television. She was a guest star in programs such as Now and Again, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, JAG, Boston Public and 2gether: The Series. Starting in 2001, she started appearing on the hit sitcom That ‘70s Show, marking her debut as Caroline, the jealous and paranoid sometime-girlfriend of Fez (Wilmer Valderrama). She also had minor roles in several high-profile films, including Elizabethtown and White Oleander.
Munn, however, is best known for her character in the sitcom What I Like About You. She joined the series in 2003 as Tina Haven, the best friend of Holly Tyler (Amanda Bynes). Her character has troubles with relationships and carries a reputation for sleeping with guys, despite her insisting that she is “not a !$#!#.” She played the character until the series ended in 2006, finally with a boyfriend (Scott Weinger).
Munn most recently appeared in another comedy, Carpoolers. There she played Cindy, the young wife of new carpooler Dougie (Tim Peper), with which she shares a very sweet new relationship. After a 13-episode run, the series was not renewed for another season. She is currently married to fellow actor Scott Holroyd, who was her friend since childhood; they married in November 2007.
