Born on July 21, 1973 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Ali Landry is a model and actress best known as Doritos Girl from the very popular 1998 Super Bowl commercial. The same year, she was named by People magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. Of French descent, she graduated from Cecilia High School in 1991 afterwards going to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she majored in mass communications.
Landry made her debut in the pageantry scene in 1990 when she was crowned Miss Louisiana Teen USA, representing the state in Biloxi, Mississippi, playing first in the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competitions but not being able to reach the final 6. Five years later, she won the Miss Louisiana USA 1996 title. In the Miss USA pageant, she placed third highest after the preliminary stages and later on winning the whole thing. The 1996 Miss Universe contest was held in Las Vegas in May that same year, placing first in the preliminary competition but dropping after the judges’ questions in the round of 6.
Landry’s movie credits include Bella, a movie she made with her husband Alejandro and received honors from the Toronto Film Festival. Her television credits include Rita on the UPN series Eve, Felicity, Popular, Bold and Beautiful, and Clueless.
