Alexis Dziena is an American actress and budding playwright born on July 8, 1984 in New York City. She comes from a Polish, Italian and Irish descent. She spent most of her summers in Sea Isle City, a small shore town in South New Jersey. She entered Saint Ann’s School together with her Bringing in the Rain costar, Paz de la Huerta. Alexis Dziena started to take interest in acting when she was offered to play a role on their high school production Twelfth Night. She enjoyed the experience so much that she decided to pursue performing. She then attended some classes at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic arts, where she performed in a number of plays.
In 2005, Alexis Dziena portrayed the teenage girl Lolita (a reference to Vladimir Nobokov’s classic novel Lolita), in Broken Flowers, in which she acted in a scene with full front nudity in front of Bill Murray’s character. The film also includes Sharon Stone and Jessica Lange She also appeared in a number of films including Strangers with Candy, in which she played Melissa, Havoc in which she co-starred with Anne Hathaway, Pizza, in which she portrayed Emily, and Mimic: Sentinel, in which she played Rosy Montroy. She also appeared in the independent films Season of Youth and Bringing Rain in which she played Lysee Key.
On television, Alexis Dziena also appeared with Tom Selleck and Mimi Rogers on Stone Cold, in which she played Candace Pennington and on She’s Too Young playing Hannah Vogul, alongside Marcia Gay Harden. She also made her appearance in various television series including Witchblade, Law & Order, and Joan of Arcadia. In 2005, she played Kira Underlay on ABC’s science fiction television series Invasion.
Dziena is also known for dating actor Michael Pitt. Aside from acting, Dziena also paints and plays the piano, cello and drums.
