Born on September 29, 1974 in The Bronx, New York, Alexis Cruz is an actor best known for several of his roles on several key series, such as Touched by and Angel, Shark, and Stargate. Of primarily Puerto Rica descent, he currently resides in Los Angeles. He attended Boston University with a major in Independent Technical Theater.
Alexis Cruz achieved international fame after starring in the feature film Stargate, wyhere he played the young Egyptian rebel leader, Skaara. He reprised the role as a recurring character in the film's popular cable series spin-off, Stargate SG-1. Cruz's additional television series credits include a regular role in the children's program Sesame Street, recurring roles in the series Touched By an Angel, as the angel Raphael, The District, American Family and Dangerous Minds, and guest-starring roles in NYPD Blue, ER, Providence, and The Cosby Show.
Alexis plays the role of Martin Allende in the CBS TV series Shark. He also starred in the CBS mini-series Larry McMurtry's Streets of Laredo and the television movies The Old Man and the Sea, Grand Avenue, Almost a Woman, Power: The Eddie Matos Story, in which he played the title role, Riot, Gryphon, Detention: The Siege at Johnson High, for which he was nominated for an ALMA Award for Best Actor, and the upcoming cable action/horror production Slayer. As for Stargate, Cruz, along with Erick Avari, is one of the only two actors to appear in both the original Stargate movie and the spin-off series. His other screen credits include The Pick-up Artist, Rooftops, The Old Man and the Sea, Gryphon, Streets of Laredo, Riot, and Slayer.
