Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Alex Reznik became known as the executive chef at Ivan kane’s Café Was. Growing up, food was integral part of Alex’s early life as the son of a first-generation European family. He watched his Russian mother and grandmother cook daily and it left a mark on a young Alex. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and soon found himself at the five-star Lutece in Las Vegas.
He met famed nightlife entrepreneur Ivan Kane while working as a chef at different Bally’s Paris resort restaurants and that became the starting point for Ivan Kane’s Café Was. His culinary philosophy was how to combine local, seasonal ingredients with classic French techniques to create honest, Californian bistro cuisine. With his talent, he soon became one of the 17 chefs competing on the seventh season of Bravo’s Top Chef. Since then, he returned to Café Was and has been living in Los Angeles.
