Mazo appeared in the movie, Dance with Me, with singer and actress Vanessa Williams , and has earned several dance titles with his dance partner and fianc? Edyta Sliwinska .
Mazo and Sliwinska competed against each other during Season 1 of Dancing with the Stars when Mazo was paired with soap actress Kelly Monaco . Due to high scores from the judges, Monaco and Mazo became the first winners of Dancing with the Stars, despite the fact fan voting had picked runner-up John O'Hurley and Charlotte Jorgensen as the winners. Mazo and Sliwinska competed against each other again on the fourth and fifth seasons of Dancing with the Stars, where Mazo was paired with former model Paulina Porizkova and supermodel Josie Maran respectively. Unfortunately, the two were eliminated on the first week of competition. It was the second time in a row that he was eliminated first on the show. He was cast as partner of Grammy-winning singer Toni Braxton for the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars.
Mazo counts being Emerald Ball Latin Amateur Champion, 2001 International Grand Ball and Holiday Dance Classic Champion as his main achievements.
