Born in North Carolina, film and television actor Aldis Hodge is the brother of actor Edwin Hodge. Aldis began to be noted as a presence on camera during the 1990s and 2000s. His relaxed charm and easygoing manner enabled him to portray a variety of characters, as he continued to be cast on several shows and movies.
Aldis Hodge made his acting debut on the film Die Hard: With a Vengeance, the third installment of the series. He portrayed the character Raymond, allowing him to act alongside Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. This was followed by a role in the romance film Bed of Roses, starring Christian Slater and Mary Stuart Masterson. Hodge maintained a low profile, appearing as a guest on series like ER, CSI, NYPD Blue and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After a recurring role on Pacific Blue, he landed a small part in the feature film Big Momma’s House in 2000. His next projects became roles in Judging Amy, Becker, Boston Public, Charmed and Cold Case. In 2004, he lent his voice to the videogame Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. That year, he also had a role in the movie The Ladykillers, featuring Tom Hanks, Irma P. Hall, Marlon Wayans and J.K. Simmons. The next year, Hodge was given roles in a string of films. He was seen on Snoop Dogg’s urban drama The Tenants, in the comic crime film Little Athens, in the animated short A.T.O.M.: Alpha Teens on Machines and on the thriller Edmond. Hodge later played a recurring character on the series Friday Night Lights, while appearing on shows like Numb3rs, The Game and Bones. He also did voice work for George Miller’s 2006 animated blockbuster, Happy Feet. He continued to get roles in Supernatural and Standoff, as well as portraying the character Alec Hardison on the series Leverage. In 2008, Hodge was cast in the horror film Red Sands, starring Shane West and Leonard Roberts.
