Al Madrigal first worked in his family's staffing agency, but after a decade, decided to pursue a full-time career in comedy. After appearing in several San Francisco comedy clubs -- as a solo performer as well as part of the group Fresh Robots -- he appeared in San Francisco's Sketchfest and Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival.
After a failed first shot at television -- Fox having cancelled the sitcom The Ortegas, a Mexican-American spin on the BBC's The Kumars at No 42 -- Madrigal joined CBS' short-lived sitcom Welcome to the Captain and the more successful (but still short-lived) Gary Unmarried.
Madrigal also appeared as a performer on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Kimmel Live, and is currently a contributor on The Daily Show. He currently stars in NBC's Free Agents.
