Actor Adam Baldwin was born on February 27, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. Although not related to the well-known Baldwin brothers, he has established a name for himself through his name film and television roles.
After graduating from New Trier Township High School East in the town of Winnetka, and a short stint as a truck driver, Baldwin kicked off his acting career. From hit debut in the 1980 film Mr. Bodyguard, he has made dozens of films, playing roles in releases such as Hadley’s Rebellion, 3:15, Full Metal Jacket, Eight Hundred Leagues Down The Amazon, How to Make an American Quilt, Independence Day and Starquest II. Only later in his career did he begin to work in television, first appearing as a regular on The Cape, as well as a recurring role on The Visitor.
Baldwin quickly made his name in science fiction programs. After appearing in a few episodes of The X-Files, he appeared in the cult hit Firefly, as the imposing mercenary Jayne Cobb. He was given the SyFy Genre Award in 2006 for Best Supporting Actor for his role, which he later reprised in the film spin-off, Serenity. He also had notable guest roles in shows like Stargate SG-1 and Angel. During this time, he also dabbled in voice acting, providing his voice to characters in Jackie Chan Adventures, Invader Zim and Justice League.
He later ventured beyond sci-fi shows, with him taking roles in action shows such as The Inside and Day Break. He then took a major role in the spy series Chuck, where he appears as NSA agent John Casey.
No relation to the Baldwin brothers Alec Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin, William Baldwin and Stephen Baldwin, who are from Long Island, NY (Adam is from the Chicago area).

Voiced the second Green Lantern Hal Jordan on "Justice League" (2001), and later chosen to voice Superman/Clark Kent for the DVD feature Superman: Doomsday (2007) (V).
One of four actors from "Firefly" (2002) who voiced superheroes on "Justice League" (2001). He voiced Hal Jordan, the Silver Age Green Lantern, while Nathan Fillion voiced the Vigilante, Gina Torres voiced Vixen and Morena Baccarin voiced Black Canary.
According to the commentary track on Superman: Doomsday (2007) (V), he was the original choice to play the voice of Superman on "Superman" (1996): the Animated Series, but was unavailable at the time. The role then went to Tim Daly.
