I Survived a Japanese Game Show: Tonight's Episode Preview

July 15, 2008

i survived a japanese game showI Survived a Japanese Game Show, the program that attempts to lure American audiences by inflicting pain, suffering and humiliation for a laugh, kicked off its first episode last month with unsatisfactory reviews and mediocre ratings that are gradually going downhill week by week. Hopefully, tonight's new episode will perk up the show and attract more viewers as I Survived a Japanese Game Show introduces two new games.

For those who are not familiar with the program, I Survived a Japanese Game Show follows 10 Americans as they compete in the ultimate Japanese game show in Tokyo.  Each week, a player will be eliminated and the final winner will take home $250,000.  So far, Olga Medvedev, Ben Hughes and Darcy Sletager have already been axed from the competition.

I Survived A Japanese Game Show: Just Watch YouTube

June 24, 2008

When I first heard about I Survived A Japanese Game Show, I called dibs in a BuddyTV meeting to cover it.  Not that many people cared or argued anyway.  Still, I couldn't wait for tonight to come, with the double premiere of ABC's Wipeout and I Survived A Japanese Game Show.  I, Gina Scarpa, am a huge fan of Japanese game shows.  I watch MXC, Ninja Warrior, Unbeatable Banzuke, and as many YouTube clips as I can get my hands on.  If you haven't watched Human Tetris, stop everything and head to YouTube.  Actually, finish reading this.  Then you can go look it up.  Unfortunately, all the shows and clips I just mentioned are about 75 million times better than tonight's premiere of I Survived A Japanese Game Show.

Read on to meet the cast of the newest ABC comedy-meets-reality offering, in which contenders will have to eat food off each other, make scrambled eggs with their butts and act as a human stuff-toy-collecting crane.
