Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps) is a neurologist on Dr. Gregory House's (Hugh Laurie) medical team. He has a juvenile delinquent past as he was caught burglarizing a house and stealing cars. Eric comes from a deeply religious family, although he holds no strong beliefs himself. In the episode "Euphoria, " he becomes infected with an unknown deadly disease. During this time, he reconnects with his dad and gains a new appreciation on life.
In the Season 3 finale, Eric quits the team in order to pursue his own practice. However, Dr. House's strange methods seem to have tainted him, and he is fired shortly after. Eric is then hired back to the team to babysit Dr. House. When Dr. House commits himself to a mental hospital, Eric is put in charge. He loses the position when Dr. House returns. Eric dates Dr. Hadley (Olivia Wilde) for a brief period of time and even jeopardizes his medical license to get her the real medicine in a clinical trial. They eventually break up because she does not want to have her disease affect anybody else.
Although he is on the same level as everyone else on Dr. House's team, he believes himself superior to them. Dr. Foreman's character is the most similar to Dr. House.
