Heidi Groskreutz was born on September 3, 1981 in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. She grew up in Newport Beach, California and specialized in Latin, ballroom and swing dancing. This 24 year old dancer remains to be the six-time U.S.A. Open Swing Dance Champion as of 2006.
Heidi auditioned for Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance with her cousin,
Benji Schwimmer and also her dance partner
Dmitry Chaplin , who all made it to the top 10 finalists. On So You Think You Can Dance, Heidi was paired with
Ryan Rankine up until Week 5. Heidi and Benji both made it to the top 4, where Heidi was the 3rd runner-up.
