Last week, we saw Greatest American Dog and Big Brother’s live eviction show trade time slots. Last Wednesday at 8pm, which is Greatest American Dog’s new timeslot, we saw the contenders brush up their dog-handling skills in the Dog Bone Challenge, which required the owners to instruct their pets on whether or not to pick up items such as steak, tofu and sticks. This challenge caused some contenders to realize that their pets aren’t as disciplined as they thought.
In this challenge, Tillman pushed through, painfully drooling over a piece of steak. However, this was not enough to earn them a spot in the Dog House. J.D. and English Border Collie Galaxy soon took Travis and Presley’s place in the house.

The premise of CBS' Greatest American Dog sounds more like the plot of a Christopher Guest mockumentary than a compelling reality show. Here's the setup: 12 people with strong personalities are thrown into a house along with their canines, where they're forced to put their pups through all sorts of wacky challenges. Each week, judges Wendy Diamond, Allan Reznik and Victoria Stillwell eliminate an owner/dog team, until the one duo left yapping is awarded $250,000.
Despite my misgivings about watching a series that's basically Big Brother: Shih-Tzu Edition, I tuned in to Greatest American Dog with an open mind. Read on to find out if CBS deserves a Best in Show trophy or a painful neutering for this reality experiment.

Pet lovers are happy to know that CBS is tossing them a treat this summer with their newest reality series that puts the spotlight on the ever-reliable man's best friend. CBS' Greatest American Dog will pit 12 teams of dogs and owners in a competition that will test owners' skills in handling dogs. The show will premiere on July 10 at 8:00pm, when pet lovers will get to see dogs of all shapes and sizes competing to grab the title of Greatest American Dog.
Read on to meet the cast of the reality competition, which will be hosted by zoologist and television personality, Jarod Miller.
