Blair gets excited when her mother, Eleanor, chooses her to be the new face of her clothing line. However, Blair‘s happiness turns quickly into feelings of betrayal and jealousy when Serena takes her spotlight and Blair finds herself back in Serena‘s shadow. Meanwhile, Serena and Dan remember once again that they come from two very different worlds. Also, Nate and Chuck do a boys weekend to blow off steam after Ivy Week ends.

Today‘s Gossip Girl opens with an homage to Breakfast at Tiffany‘s. As in the movie, the song “Moon River” plays as Blair (Leighton Meester), dressed up like Audrey Hepburn with a fantastic updo, gets out of a cab and stares into a store window. Only, instead of gazing at jewelry through the plate glass, she sees Serena (Blake Lively), being waited on by Isabel (Nicole Fiscella) and Katy (Nan Zhang). Wait a minute, those girls are Blair‘s multicultural posse, not Serena‘s! Blair wakes up and is relieved to find that it was just a dream—Serena isn‘t taking over Blair‘s life. Blair gets up and walks downstairs to find Serena having brunch with her mother Eleanor (Margaret Colin). Maybe there was something to the dream after. Blair didn‘t even know that her mother was back in town, and here is her supposed best friend acting all chummy with her! Eleanor says that she has found a store that wants to run her fashion designs, and tells Blair to eat low-fat yogurt instead of a pastry, all in the same breath.
