Gina Holden is a Canadian actress born on March 17, 1975 in the town of Smithers, British Columbia. She first performed during a figure skating exhibition when she was five years old, and she later went on to train in various forms of dance, such as tap, ballet, musical theater, and modern dance. When she was 15 years old, she was scouted by a modeling agency and moved to Japan, where she endorsed Shiseido cosmetics and appeared on over twenty magazine covers. She would later return to North America and work in TV shows and movies such as Fantastic Four,

Dale Arden is portrayed by Gina Holden in the Sci-Fi Channel's modern-day remake of the classic comic series Flash Gordon. She is Flash Gordon's high school sweetheart, though she eventually left for college while he stayed in their hometown. She eventually returned and now works as a reporter for the local news. Though she's engaged to someone else, there still remains an attraction between her and Flash. A driven and industrious young woman, she tries to balance her adventures on Mongo with her responsibilities back on Earth, while trying to keep it all a secret from her fiancé.
