As BuddyTV reported last month, the match between UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and undefeated MMA fighter Shane Carwin has been postponed to early next year, possibly for UFC 108 on January 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The delay of what was supposed to be UFC 106, scheduled to commence on November 21, is due to Lesnar's illness--- something that has kept him from training for almost a month.

However, it looks like UFC fans might have to wait even longer than expected now that the highly anticipated fight has been postponed again. According to UFC president Dana White, Lesnar is seriously ill though he wouldn't shed light on the nature of Lesnar's illness.

UFC: The Karate Kid Postpones Rematch with Shogun

Lyoto Machida, also known as "The Karate Kid" of UFC, has recently announced that he will not be fighting fellow Brazilian Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at their highly anticipated rematch scheduled for January 2, 2010. As it turns out, Machida will need surgery to repair an injured hand which he sustained during UFC 104.

Many UFC fans are looking forward to the heavyweight title main event between current UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin, who is currently undefeated and holds a notable victory over Gabriel Gonzaga. But it looks like fans will have to wait a little bit longer since the fight has been postponed for early next year.

UFC has initially announced that Lesnar and Carwin will be featured on UFC 106, which is scheduled to commence on November 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As an alternative, the light heavyweight rematch between Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin has become the new main event for UFC 106.

Matt Hamill Out for UFC 102

When UFC 102 takes place at the Rose Center in Portland, Oregon on August 29, the event will be without Matt "The Hammer" Hamill. The 32-year-old MMA fighter has been scratched from the main card and will be replaced by Polish-Canadian Krzysztof Soszynski.

According to Sherdog, the change in UFC 102 resulted from an injured knee suffered by Hamill during a recent training session.

Frank Mir may have lost to Brock Lesnar the rematch at UFC 100 but he appears to have won the public after Lesnar went on a tirade of spit and trash-talking. And despite Lesnar's apology for being a sore winner, he remains embarrassed and unimpressed.

During the UFC post fight celebration, Lesnar flipped off an aggressive crowd which had been booing the decision, buried the PPV's primary sponsor Bud Light, promoting Coors Light instead, and implied he would have sex with his wife after the show. Later, he apologized for his actions in his post-fight press conference after UFC head Dana White scolded him for vamping like a WWE wrestler.

UFC: Justin Levens and Wife Found Dead

Mixed martial arts fighter Justin Levens, 28, and his wife Sarah McLean-Levens, 25, were found shot to death in their Laguna Niguel condo in California. The bodies were found in bed yesterday afternoon by the woman's mother, who called 911, Sheriff's spokesman Jim Armomino said.

According to TMZ, which first reported the news, cops are investigating their deaths as an apparent murder-suicide. Meanwhile, Lt. Mike Jansen says further information would be released later today.

UFC: Kevin Burns Determined Settle the Score with Anthony Johnson

Tomorrow is judgment day for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir, which will be will be held at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada at 9pm ET/PT. But tomorrow's fighting game doesn't just mark the finale of The Ultimate Fighter season 8. As reported previously, it's also the day when Kevin Burns and Anthony Johnson finally settle the score.

During UFC: Silva vs. Irvin in July, Burns was awarded a TKO win despite replays showing that it was an accidental eye poke that ended the fight. While this is enough reason to celebrate, the Iowa native agreed to an immediate rematch after the controversial ending to their first encounter in the Octagon.

'UFC' First Season Winner to Drop to Lightweight?

Previously, we reported that UFC veteran and lightweight fan favorite Jorge Gurgel has severed ties with the MMA organization and consequently signed up a multi-fight deal with California-based Strikeforce. "It's not a happy moment," Gurgel said of leaving UFC. "It's very humiliating, and it's a crushing of my childhood dream."

In possibly related news, UFC welterweight and The Ultimate Fighter first season winner Diego Sanchez hinted at dropping to Gurgel's division in, on all of places, his MySpace bulletin. Nicknamed “Nightmare,” Sanchez made his debut in 2002 and his UFC debut upon being selected as a contestant on the first season of the reality show. When he won a fight against Kenny Florian, he acquired a contract with the UFC.

Following a controversial ending to their first encounter in the Octagon, Anthony Johnson and Kevin Burns will exchange blows once again at the live finale for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada live on December 13 at 9pm ET/PT.

Johnson, who made his impressive UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 10 by knocking out Chad Reiner just 13 seconds into the first round, first fought Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert Burns on July 19. The fight ended in controversial fashion by TKO loss during the third round. Burns reportedly poked Johnson in the eye with an open fist despite four separate warnings by the referee. While many believe that Johnson should have won the fight via disqualification, the bout was awarded as TKO for Burns. And though Johnson appealed the decision as the poke in the eye was an illegal move, it was ultimately rejected due to lack of remedy.

Brock Lesnar Doesn't Hold Back for UFC 91

Nate Quarry Braces Himself for UFC 91

There are a lot of big names to watch out for in the upcoming UFC 91. UFC: The Student Takes on His Master

UFC 90 is just around the corner and mixed martial arts fans are just waiting in anticipation over some of the brawls that will transpire at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The event, which will commence on October 25, will feature middleweight champion Anderson Silva facing off against Patrick Côté in the main event. While that fight alone is enough reason to tune in to UFC 90, there's another explosive match up fans are looking forward to: Marcus Aurelio versus Hermes Franca.

Both from Fortaleza, Brazil, Aurelio and Franca have many similarities between them. They are both masters in jiu-jitsu, they both presently live in Florida and they are both in their mid 30s. But perhaps the biggest connection between these two fighters is the fact that Franca was a student and Aurelio was his teacher.

UFC has officially added a lightweight title fight between Alvin Robinson and Mark Bocek to what is expected to be the biggest UFC event in history. UFC 91, which is scheduled to take place on November 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will see both fighters as they get back on the Octagon after losing to their respective opponents from their most recent bout. While Bocek is coming off from a loss to Mac Danzig at UFC 83 - Serra vs. St. Pierre II, Robinson lost his last fight to Nate Diaz at UFC Fight Night 12.

Born in Canada, Bocek successfully entered the mixed martial arts scene as he won against Mark Colangelo at TKO 15 – Unstoppable in 2004. This was followed by three consecutive victories, which saw the 26-year-old fighter beat Kevin Manderson, John Mahlow and Garett Davis. In July 2007, however, Bocek got his first taste of defeat as he lost to Frank Edgar at UFC 73 – Stacked. Italian Mixed Martial Artist Ivan Serati Signs Up for UFC

Tomorrow, mixed martial arts fans can finally grab a hold of tickets for what is expected to be the biggest UFC event in history. According to the press release, the public sale will start at 11am PT and tickets will be priced at $1000, $750, $500, $300, $150 and $75.

UFC: Evan Tanner Dead at 37

Evan Tanner, former UFC Middleweight and USWF Heavyweight champion with a professional record of 32 wins and eight losses, passed away at the age of 37 on September 8.

The mixed martial arts fighter went on a camping trip in the Palo Verde mountain area and had not answered friends' text messages since last Wednesday. He was officially reported missing last Friday and was found dead by an Imperial County Sheriff's Department Deputy on Monday.

Randy Couture Comes Back to UFC

The past year has been laden with nothing but legal battles for Randy Couture, who previously claimed that UFC lacked the support he needed in order to further his career with them. On Tuesday, however, UFC and Couture announced that they have finally come to terms regarding their previous disagreement. In fact, the 45-year-old fighter is set to return to the wrestling battlefield on November 15th in Las Vegas, Nevada. There, he will finally get to defend his title against Brock Lesnar.

“We've resolved them all,” Dana White said of the differences UFC had with Couture. “He's always been the heavyweight champion of the UFC. ... All I care about is that [Couture] is back and fighting.”

UFC: Rampage Faces Multiple Charges

Last July 15, Quinton Rampage Jackson lived up to his name when he figured in a high-speed, three-car collision, and car chase, prompting the police to arrest him. He now faces multiple felony charges, including felony evading, reckless driving, and hit and run. According to a police witness, Jackson weaved in and out of traffic while talking on his phone. He plowed into the sidewalk narrowly avoiding pedestrians. The ensuing car chase had him evading the authorities, who report that he was involved in at least two more collisions before that one.

One of those who were in Jackson's path during the rampage, Holli Griggs, 38, of Huntington Beach, California, was 16 weeks pregnant during the time of the incident and suffered a miscarriage. She filed a civil suit against Jackson for hit-and-run.

Meet the Cast: 'The Ultimate Fighter' Season 8

Finally, the cast of Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter season 8 was finally revealed. As always, the contenders will divided into two teams and will be coached by former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir and reigning interim heavyweight titleholder Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The two will also figure in a bout for the interim belt at a pay-per-view event in December. This year, the Ultimate Fighter hopefuls belong to the lightweight and light heavyweight divisions.

It is set to premiere on September 17 at 10pm. Similar to last season's format, the 32 finalists will be trimmed down to 16 on the first episode. 'UFC 87: Search and Destroy' Line-Up Finalized

UFC 87 (Eighty-seven events? I feel old) has finalized its fight card. UFC 87 will be held in the great state of Minnesota, at the Target Center in Minneapolis on August 9. The main event is a bout between current UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre versus challenger Jon Fitch. This will be St. Pierre's first title defense since regaining the belt in April after defeating upstart Matt Serra at UFC 83. The other big fight involves Brock Lesnar, former amateur wrestler, WWE entertainer, and NFL wannabe. Now plying his trade in the UFC, Lesnar is huge man with lots of potential. He was originally scheduled to fight UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman, but Coleman had to withdraw because of an Achilles injury. Lesnar will now be fighting Heath Herring.
