'Lost' Final Season Gets Premiere Date on a New Day

The wait until the final season of Lost now is no longer a mystery. Today ABC revealed that Lost's sixth and final season will premiere February 2, 2010. A Tuesday.

Lost will air a special one-hour recap at 8pm on February 2, followed by the two-hour premiere, cryptically titled "LAX." The following week the show will settle into its regular time slot at 9pm.

Surely you used the six days in between initial broadcasts of Lost to ponder what you just saw. Oddly for me, the opposite is the case. I mean, if I don't watch an episode for more than a couple of days, I find myself going "what?" all over again. That's exactly what happened when I resumed watching last week, after a week-long break which saw me fly to Singapore amazed at "The Constant". I felt a bit disengaged, to be honest.

The folks behind the latest Star Trek film celebrated Monday night, as they marked the release of their DVD release, but some of the folks there were keen on knowing stuff about something else: Lost. After all, executive producer Damon Lindelof was around, and even if we all know he wouldn't exactly spill details about the final season which airs early next year, it helps to squeeze whatever can be squeezed off him, right?

"All I can say is that we've spent the last five years answering the question, 'Were you guys making it up as you go along? Do you know what you're doing?'" he told TV Guide Magazine. "It's a great comfort to know that in about six months people will stop asking us that question. They're basically say 'you were making it up as you go along,' or they'll go 'wow, you really had a plan.'"

As many of you probably know, I had the opportunity to visit the set of V a couple weeks ago. I spent most of my time in Father Jack's (Joel Gretsch) office, waiting around to interview the actors. I was even given a tour of Erica Evan's (Elizabeth Mitchell) house and part of the V spaceship. I can say, with all honesty, the cast and crew are extremely friendly and they all have faith in the show. Despite the ratings dip in the second week, viewership is still strong and the story is stronger than ever.

Last week, Erica Evans worked to prove that her partner, Dale, was working with one of the terrorist organizations. Unfortunately, she worked alone. Father Jack was timid to help and had difficulties learning who to trust. Luckily, he came around by the end of the episode and decided to join forces with Erica to take down the Vs. The two of them hope to build a resistance.

Well, I'm still here. I took a plane to Singapore and it did not crash somewhere in the Pacific. It landed like it should be, where it should be, and thus I enjoyed my vacation, although walking constantly for four days or so resulted in blisters on my feet.

It seems the folks at Lost found their Kendall.

Sheila Kelley is joining the show's sixth and final season, Entertainment Weekly reports. She's taking the recurring role of Kendall, one who possesses great intellect, sharp wit and beauty--but is caught participating in corporate espionage and has to lie to get her way out of it.

This morning the People's Choice Award nominations were revealed, and as always, it's populism at its best. On the TV side, the nominees often look like the top of the Nielsen ratings list, with a few notable and surprising exceptions. Shows like True Blood and Gossip Girl crept into the Favorite TV Actress categories while Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show features Lost, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

However, those are the very cool exceptions. For the most part, the list is full of CSI, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Two and a Half Men and other top-rated shows. Here are the major television nominees for this year's People's Choice Awards.

Naveen Andrews Gets 'Law & Order: SVU' Guest Gig

Naveen Andrews, best known as Ocean 815 survivor Sayid Jarrah on Lost, has signed on for a guest role on the NBC drama Law & Order: SVU.

TVGuide.com reports that he is set to begin shooting in the coming week in New York, although details of his role are being kept under wraps. His episode is set to air in January next year, at around the same time Lost premieres its sixth and final season.

We're roughly two months away from the final season of Lost, folks, and the first official promo has popped up, and... well, nothing's really new. There's no new footage, and the only thing it's saying is that the end is about to start.

To be honest, I shouldn't have any idea. (If you've been following my attempts to watch all Lost episodes for the first time, you should know.) But it's been said that Messrs. Cuse and Lindelof have convinced ABC not to show any photos or videos from the new episodes until the premiere this January, because the twists all rely on that.

After breaking my vow of slowing down on my Lost intake--I added nine more episodes and I just realized I'll hit the third season finale by the weekend--it occurred to me that the show is much more hard to follow than I thought, because there are just so many threads to follow. I thought I could keep track with it. All of a sudden, I couldn't.

I've been catching up on Lost (and writing this series) for the past four weeks now, and for the most part, it's been a weird experience: speculating about things where answers have already been given, and asking for clarification to people who'd encourage you instead to fish further. 2009 Emmy Awards Live Thoughts

It's my favorite night of the year, Emmy night! Some people wait for the Oscars or the Super Bowl, but for me, there's nothing better than seeing if my favorite shows and actors take home the Emmy.

Making tonight's Emmy Award celebration even better is the fact that it's hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, and there are rumors that he'll do a Dr. Horrible-inspired musical number. So stick with me as I'll be posting updates all night along about the winners and the major events that everyone will be talking about tomorrow. Let's just hope no one invited Kanye.

Oh, hello there. My name is Henrik, and, believe it or not, I have never watched Lost.

Here's how it went. When the show premiered five years ago, I wasn't really interested, dismissing it as being just a show about plane crash survivors living on a secluded island. Time passed by, and friends tried to convince me that it's waaay beyond that. I tried watching some time during the third season, but decided that I can't pick up from there because, as we all know now, the show can be quite confusing at times. I could've started catching up earlier, but I didn't have any time to just sit back and watch from the very start.

Here we go with all these rumors about who will, and won't, be returning to Lost for its sixth and final season. Some names are confirmed (Dominic Monaghan, Ian Somerhalder, Emilie de Ravin, Elizabeth Mitchell, who else?) and some names are still floating (Maggie Grace, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje... I absolutely cannot keep track).

But one name's not been getting the rumor treatment yet--Harold Perrineau, also known as Vincent-searching Michael Dawson. He's dead, or he's supposed to be. Is he returning? He doesn't have many answers... except for a big fat no.
