Grey's Anatomy Webisodes Kick Off

Bummed that there won't be any new Grey's Anatomy episode until next year? ABC.com will try to have things covered, with Seattle Grace: On Call, a six-part webisode series, each four to five minutes long, plus a special behind-the-scenes episode chronicling the making of Seattle Grace: On Call. The first one aired last night after the Grey's Anatomy broadcast of its last episode for the year.

Sounds nice? You be the judge, but off hand, the webisodes will not feature the main characters of Grey's Anatomy. Set primarily in Joe's Emerald City Bar, the popular hangout spot for the doctors after work, Seattle Grace: On Call is shot like a documentary, following the trials of many of the familiar faces featured on the ABC medical drama.

On tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy, we found out that: 1. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) has an 18-year-old long-lost daughter, Little Sloan (guest star Leven Rambin), 2. There's someone who can effectively shut Bailey (Chandra Wilson) up, at least for a while, 3. the Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) has a drinking problem, 4. Owen (Kevin McKidd) had feelings for Teddy (guest star Kim Raver), 5. Izzie (Katherine Heigl) is once again MIA, 6. Bailey played the oboe as a kid, 7. no bonuses for the surgeons! This is an outrage!

It's Thanksgiving in Seattle Grace!

Anywhere else actually, but on Grey's Anatomy, Miranda (Chandra Wilson) is visited by her father William, who disapproves of her choices in life. Elsewhere Thatcher Grey questions the Chief's (James Pickens, Jr.) behavior as Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) comes to his defense. Cristina (Sandra Oh), meanwhile, begins suspecting that something either is or was up between Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Teddy (guest star Kim Raver). As she says, she may be insensitive, but she picks these things up.

Keen an open mind, that's what Kevin McKidd wants to tell the Grey's Anatomy fans who are apprehensive of the brewing love triangle among his character Owen Hunt, his girlfriend (sort of, because you just can't associate the word girlfriend with her) Cristina Yang, and newcomer Teddy Altman (guest star Kim Raver). Nonetheless, he revealed that what the three will get themselves into a real "adult problem."

"It's not going to be some petty, juvenile, immature thing. It's going to be really interesting and very intense," he tells E! Online.

Rumor has it that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles home-wrecker Leven Rambin will play Mark Sloan's (Eric Dane) long-lost daughter on Grey's Anatomy. But that still remains to be seen. What we can assure you, though, is this: whatever role she plays, it's not going to be good news for Mark and Lexie (Chyler Leigh). Grey's Anatomy executive producer Shonda Rhimes said so herself.

"I'm not sure it's the kind of obstacle people are expecting, but it's definitely a new one. I'm not sure they'll stick together through it," she tells Entertainment Weekly.

The kiss didn't happen, so declared Cristina (Sandra Oh) on the last episode of Grey's Anatomy. She was, of course, referring to the inebriated lip-lock on the sidelines of Callie's (Sara Ramirez) surprise party for girlfriend Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). Will Jackson (Jesse Williams) heed the request and stop pursuing Cristina? After all, he had finally saw the light and realized that the girl has a boyfriend.

"It's not over," says Williams. Oops.

Freshly returning to Grey's Anatomy after shooting a movie, Katherine Heigl will be rather scarce this season on the ABC show. She is set to take another hiatus, this time of the maternal nature, as she plans to spend some quality time with newly adopted daughter Naleigh and husband Josh Kelley. The Ugly Truth star will return to Grey's Anatomy early next year, reports the Los Angeles Times.

What the hell, ABC? The promos had everyone's panties up in a bunch over the whole "Are you pregnant?" thing on Grey's Anatomy (or at least the more na??ve among us), then it would turn out to be some random quip from a hallucinating teacher? Tonight on Grey's Anatomy, there were several alternately funny and sad moments, but it's all about the Chief and Cristina, mostly.

Owen (Kevin McKidd) had a "present" for Yang (Sandra Oh), who lately had been complaining that her God-given cardiothoracic gifts are wasting away because she doesn't have an attending to look up to. So in comes Teddy Atlman (Kim Raver). Yang is not Yang if she is easily pleased, so she wants to know things about Teddy and why she hasn't heard of her. Here she is whining to Mer (Ellen Pompeo) and Alex (Justin Chambers) over lunch:

Fans of the very intense Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) are doubly worried on Grey's Anatomy. Not only is newcomer Jackson (Jesse Williams) kissing an inebriated/pissed Cristina on the sidelines of a surprise party gone wrong, but someone from Owen's past - and John Bauer's, too, by the way - is set to visit Seattle Grace.

But McKidd tells About.com that Kim Raver's character, Teddy Altman, won't be on Grey's Anatomy to come between Cristina and Owen. In fact, she might even help Yang, but bring some trouble into the relationship in the process.

Grey's Anatomy: Preview of Episode 6.9 "New History" (Plus Clips)

Izzie's (Katherine Heigl) back tonight on Grey's Anatomy! And so is Mer (Ellen Pompeo)! It's still unclear how they're going to weave Izzie into the storyline, after all, the girl was fired by the Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) a few episodes ago for sort of killing someone again. Will she just hang around the hospital bothering people? Or will the Chief hire her again? As of now, she returns with her high school mentor seeking treatment for his dementia. How this storyline can't go on forever right?

Of course, Alex (Justin Chambers) is distraught, and at first he didn't even want to talk to Iz. But that's understandable, because she left him via a hastily scribbled note that made him cry. Not only that, she also left him with her hospital bills, not to mention missed her appointments and didn't call him back. Why is Izzie treating Alex this way? Didn't Alex suffer enough through this whole ordeal?

This morning the People's Choice Award nominations were revealed, and as always, it's populism at its best. On the TV side, the nominees often look like the top of the Nielsen ratings list, with a few notable and surprising exceptions. Shows like True Blood and Gossip Girl crept into the Favorite TV Actress categories while Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show features Lost, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

However, those are the very cool exceptions. For the most part, the list is full of CSI, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Two and a Half Men and other top-rated shows. Here are the major television nominees for this year's People's Choice Awards.

Sure they were both inebriated, but that kiss should still account for something right? If you missed last weeks' episode of Grey's Anatomy, Yang (Sandra Oh) and Mercy Wester Jackson (Jesse Williams) kissed on the sidelines of Callie's (Sara Ramirez) not-so-booming surprise party to girlfriend Arizona (Jessica Capshaw).

The context: Yang is pissed at Owen (Kevin McKidd) for not going ballistic on her for an unauthorized procedure she did earlier. Jackson, meanwhile, found the whole renegade surgeon thing hot. Could it be the start of something bigger? Williams tells TV Guide that yes, that's very possible.

We just reported that some discord might be in the offing for Grey's Anatomy lezzie couple Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). On the upcoming episode of the ABC medical dramedy, it's Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen's (Kevin McKidd) turn to reassess their relationship with 24's Kim Raver visiting the hospital as Iraqi War vet Teddy Altman (not to mention that kiss last episode).

Well, it isn't Grey's Anatomy when the couples' love stories are smooth sailing, and from the looks of things, Sloan (Eric Dane) and Lexie (Chyler Leigh) are next in line to get their perfect world disrupted.

A couple of things you should know about tonight Grey's Anatomy episode: first, it's Arizona-centric, and second, Izzie won't return until next week but she might still annoy you.

On "Invest in Love" one of Arizona's patient's very rich parents surprises birthday girl Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) with a generous donation of $25 million for additional research into their kid's condition. Of course, Arizona is speechless, so is the Chief and a member of the board, because they've apparently been having some money problems. However, when the patient's condition worsens, all eyes are on Arizona to fix it, including the father and donor, who admonishes her to "buy him more time."

Everything a 'Supernatural' Fan Needs to Know About 'Grey's Anatomy'

This week is the highly anticipated Supernatural TV parody episode "Changing Channels." Previews have already shown that the episode will feature Sam and Dean living in various TV show parodies, including a traditional sitcom and CSI. But perhaps the funniest is a spot-on parody of Supernatural's time slot rival, Grey's Anatomy.

I was fortunate enough to see an early copy of "Changing Channels," and without giving away too many details, there's more to this episode than just parodies. Like all of the best Supernatural episodes, the comedic elements are only a small part of the overall story, and there are definitely some shocking twists and dramatic moments in store for all the characters. 'Grey's Anatomy' 'Give Peace a Chance' Recap - The Mother of All Tumors and Diapers

You know it's a tumor-centric Grey's Anatomy episode when scary sound effects reverberate when people discuss the mother of all tumors / the great white of tumors / the you-can-retire-on-this-tumor tumor. On "Give Peace a Chance" the hospital's lab-tech Isaac has an inoperable tumor and everyone is thrilled / amazed at it, probably in spite of themselves, since a tumor's supposed to be a bad thing, right?

But Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) hubris / determination is at an all-time high, so he's up to the challenge of taking on a nearly inoperable tumor. The Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) obviously won't hear any of it and points this out to him quite emphatically. Unfortunately for him, the rest of the hospital - most notably Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) - are all in Team Derek and stopped short of tackling the chief just so he wouldn't interfere with the 10-hour super surgery.

Following the harsh, harsh last episode that ended with two casualties - one dead, one fired - tonight's Grey's Anatomy will probably try to move forward and settle their differences. At least that's what can be readily inferred from the title - "Give Peace a Chance" - and the lack of bickering from the preview clips.

Yet with Mer (Ellen Pompeo) out of commission because she's recovering from surgery (on-screen) and bonding with new baby (off-screen) the spotlight is cast on her hubby Derek (Patrick Dempsey). News has it that McDreamy is even taking over voice-over duties for this episode.

Can you already imagine it? But won't we miss Meredith's sultry words of wisdom?

Can any woman match up with the fiery and intense Cristina Yang? Well, how about toughie Audrey Raines from 24? Kim Raver is set to drop by the November 12 episode of Grey's Anatomy and it won't be good news to the happy couple Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Yang (Sandra Oh).

Raver's character Teddy Atlman is also an Iraqi War veteran, and she is hired by Owen as the new cardiothoracic surgeon, and right away, Cristina questions her abilities in the OR plus the nature of their relationships. By the way, this is also the same Grey's Anatomy episode where Izzie (Katherine Heigl) makes her return.

While her character on Grey's Anatomy seems to have been suffering a career crisis of sorts, the actress who plays feisty and stoic Cristina Yang is achieving a milestone in her very own. Canadian-Korean Sandra Oh recently returned to alma mater National Theater Council last week to accept the prestigious Gascon-Thomas award 16 years after she graduated and set off to try professional acting.

Yet asked how she felt about being an inspiration to aspiring actors, Oh paused and said she just doesn't think about it that way.

McMommies Back to Work on 'Grey's Anatomy'

In the last few episodes, Grey's Anatomy had to deal with a couple of new mommies, Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo. What did they do? Fire Izzie for killing someone (sort of), and get Meredith bed-ridden for giving a chunk of her liver to Thatcher. Thankfully, the Grey's team were able to preempt Pompeo's absence by pre-taping her scenes so we'll still see Mer in all the episodes. Heigl, however, asked for a five-week hiatus so she was, well, fired from Seattle Grace.

It's still not certain how the Grey's Anatomy people will get to rewrite Heigl's character into the show after she flew off without so much as a ruckus following an incident with an "invader" from Mercy West. Nevertheless, both Pompeo and Heigl are back on the Grey's Anatomy set, so everything looks normal again, People reports.

It just doesn't stop for former Grey's Anatomy mainstay TR Knight. Several months after departing the highly rated ABC medical series and transitioning to theater, the 36-year-old has split up with boyfriend of two years Mark Cornelson, People reports.

Knight, who is best known for playing George O'Malley on Grey's Anatomy, started dating Cornelson in early 2008. A source described the breakup as "amicable."

After Grey's Anatomy, the actor had landed the lead in the musical Parade, his first, that will run through November 15 in Los Angeles.

Still bummed that Izzie (Katherine Heigl) got fired on Grey's Anatomy? Wait, you're thrilled that she's fired? Anyway, Robert Baker, one of the evil Mercy Westers Charles Denman and sort of responsible for getting Izzie fired, revealed to TV Guide that Iz will not only return to Seattle Grace, she will do so in astonishing fashion, with only one agenda on her mind - revenge.

"I can't say when or how she comes back," says Baker, "but I can definitely say that Izzie is going to give as good as she got when she gets back around to me. People can definitely to look forward to seeing her score some points on [Charles] in the near future."
