Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester went out with flair last night to the American Eagle flagship store opening in New York City.

The sultry actress, who is now trying her hand at a music career with her new single, "Somebody to Love," showed up to the opening in a short leather dress with a bandeau top underneath, and later changed into multi-colored leggings, studded ankle boots, and a top-knot hairdo for an unprecedented, ultra-mod look.

Extended Promo: 'Gossip Girl' Episode 3.11, "Treasure of Serena Madre"

Earlier this week we saw the first promo for the next episode of Gossip Girl, "Treasure of Serena Madre," which will air in two weeks: a Thanksgiving-themed episode the Monday after actual Turkey Day.

Now the extended promo is out, and it reveals a few key plot points that we will need to wait until November 30 to see fleshed out.

It doesn't take someone with Blair Waldorf's sexual tension radar to pick up on the fact that Serena and Nate have some unresolved romantic issues to work out.

Anyone who watched last night's Gossip Girl episode could tell that the Serenate candle was rekindling on both ends. Until, of course, Tripp van der Bilt showed up, and took Ms. van der Woodsen off for some "van der on van der" action.

'Gossip Girl' Wrap-Up: "Bad Romance" Is An Understatement (Lady Gaga's First!)

Don't get me wrong: that was a good episode, Gossip Girl! Full of Blair-power, Chuck-heroism, and Dan-doofusness! Plus, Nate basically became a genius therapist, and that's fun, because everytime I think you can't top the last thing that made no sense, you do it! You top it, with something that makes even LESS than ZERO sense! It sounds mathematically impossible, but you manage it, every time. You also put Serena in shoulder pads, and made Rufus say "gonorhhea"! You even gave me Lady Gaga. So: Bravo, Gossip Girl! A truly momentous episode.

But it really was full of bad, BAAAAD romances.

Dan and Vanessa? Been there, barfed that. But I guess... they work.

Serena and Tripp? In the sense that I can't decide who is a bigger hypocrite, I guess they work, too.

Blair and the uppity, ugly theater kids? B, you're better than that. Conquering the school is not worth keeping the company of those who would insult the amazing Cyrus Rose. Wake up and save your Gaga-favors for the truly worthy!

What else was good, bad and ugly about tonight's Gossip Girl, episode 3.10, "The Last Days of Disco Stick"? Let's get down to it, faster than Damien's drug-dealing hand to Jenny's royal crotch-al region.

Zuzanna Szadkowski, better known as Blair Waldorf's maid Dorota on Gossip Girl, had no idea when she signed on for the minor role that it would make such a major impact--on the show, the fans, and her life as an actress.

"I feel blessed," she told us when we had the chance to chat with her about the part, and the positive reactions it has elicited among the show's viewers. "I'm thrilled and surprised every time I meet a Dorota fan."

Zuzanna might be surprised by Dorota's popularity, but we're certainly not. On a show that often crams a week's worth of high-stakes drama into one hour, Dorota is more than just a maid: she's our essential comic relief; the brief exhales between Gossip Girl's frenzied sessions of passion, deceit, mortification, and the other outlandish growing pains undergone by its young, beautiful and affluent stars. It helps to have Dorota, to balance out all that turmoil. And it helps even more that she's hilarious.

The CW Shuffles Monday Schedule for 2010

Life is about to get very unexpected for fans of the CW's Monday lineup in 2010 with a daring and original new scheduling approach that will squeeze three shows into two time slots. One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and the new drama Life Unexpected will all air Monday nights in 2010, ensuring no repeats.

The new schedule is a bit complicated, so fans may want to start marking their calendars. Starting January 18, One Tree Hill will return with new episodes at 8pm while the fantastic new series Life Unexpected (starring Dawson's Creek star Kerr Smith and Roswell's Shiri Appleby) will premiere at 9pm. That duo will run for seven weeks, and then starting March 8, Life Unexpected will move to 8pm and Gossip Girl will return at 9pm.

Last night on Gossip Girl, episode 3.09, "They Shoot Humphreys, Don't They?":

Jenny wants to be queen, not only of Constance, but of the entire UES. She decides she can only do this by obtaining the perfect escort for the cotillion. Her minions attempt to find someone worthy of their her highness, but Jenny only wants one boy, Graham Collins.

Blair and Chuck discuss her involvement in the cotillion. Blair insists that she would doesn't want to go because she could chance running into Serena. Chuck convinces her that by going, she would give Serena a chance to apologize. Chuck also tells Blair he is planning a lost weekend with Nate. Blair is shocked at first, but eventually approves the festivities.

Serena wants a job, again. We are still unsure why. This time she gets a job working for Tripp van der Bilt, the newly elected congressman. They seem to have sparks, but attempt not acting on them.

'Gossip Girl' to Take 6-Week Winter Hiatus for 'Life UneXpected'

The CW announced today that their new series Life UneXpected will premiere on Monday, January 18, at 9 PM--the time slot usually reserved for Gossip Girl.

Gossip Girl still has two episodes left to air this fall: next Monday's episode 3.10, "Last Days of Disco Stick," and the as-yet-untitled episode 3.11, which will air November 30.

The show will return for the two weeks leading up to January 18 with episodes 3.12, "The Debarted," and 3.13, "Jenny, Full of Grace." These dates and titles are subject to change.

Gossip Girl: 5 Reasons Why The PTC Should Love That Threesome

Last week, the Parents Television Council wrote a stern letter to CW affiliates urging them to pull last night's episode of Gossip Girl, in which three characters engage in a threesome. The details of the three-way play were vague at that point, but the PTC made one point crystal clear: kids love to watch Gossip Girl, and Gossip Girl should not encourage that kind of sexual behavior among its viewers.

As a concerned parent (Note: I am not a parent) of a small child (Note: This child does not exist) who loves to watch and reenact exactly what he sees on our TV screen each Monday at 9 PM, naturally I could relate to the PTC's concerns, and I was troubled by the prospect of my child's favorite show, which up until this point has been a powerful and realistic moral beacon in our household, all of a sudden encouraging dangerous behavior with my dear young son, Dustin. (Note: There is no Dustin.) I mean, the drinking, drugs, philandering, backstabbing, cleavage-bearing, and revenge-sex-having that frequently occur on this kid's program is one thing. It's our responsibility to depict the world as accurately as possible for our impressionable children, to prepare them for life's tough brunches and Ponzi schemes ahead. But where do we draw the line, as responsible parents? It's not like we can just turn off the TV. Something needs to be done!

Well, I am happy to report that that 'something' is actually nothing. My fellow PTC members, we can call off the troops with this whole "threesome" thing, because what I saw last night presented the topic with just as much maturity and realism that I have come to expect from my son's favorite program, Gossip Girl.

People's Choice Award Nominees: 'True Blood,' 'Gossip Girl' and the Usual Suspects

This morning the People's Choice Award nominations were revealed, and as always, it's populism at its best. On the TV side, the nominees often look like the top of the Nielsen ratings list, with a few notable and surprising exceptions. Shows like True Blood and Gossip Girl crept into the Favorite TV Actress categories while Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show features Lost, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

However, those are the very cool exceptions. For the most part, the list is full of CSI, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Two and a Half Men and other top-rated shows. Here are the major television nominees for this year's People's Choice Awards.

'Gossip Girl' Wrap-Up: If "They" Don't Shoot Humphreys, I'd Like to Volunteer

Tonight on Gossip Girl: New alliances form, while others disintegrate under the pressure of so many text-lies and e-bites. Serena and Blair make up, but don't make out, while trapped in an elevator. Nate has nothing better to do than to deliver Chuck's mail and relive his high school "epic"-ness by escorting Jenny at Cotillion. Eric and Blair see the Franken-mess they've created in one Jenny Humphrey, and they try to take her down, but it's too late--this monster is bigger, stronger, and more devoid of human emotion than anyone could have imagined, and she's got no sympathy for casualties under her evil, half-gloved hand. Including Jonathan, who breaks up with Eric for "sinking to Jenny's level." Plus, Serena is well on her way to earning the elusive "Skank Triple Crown" via a political scandal with congressman Tripp Vanderbilt, who is apparently above lying about a drowning hoax, but not above hiring an 18-year-old to whom he is overwhelmingly sexually attractive.

Oh yeah, and there's a threesome. Involving none of the above persons... and three people I once thought would be above such a drunken, sloppy mistake. I mean "adventure"! But hey, that's college. Or so Gossip Girl wants us to believe!

Lady Gaga on Her 'Gossip Girl' Performance: It's A "Crazy Performance-Art Piece"

Next week, Lady Gaga will be visiting a whole new kind of fantastical realm, even for her: the Upper East Side.

In the video below, courtesy of MTV, Gaga describes the process by which she decided to guest on the program, and how her hands-on approach to the collaboration resulted in one very "crazy" and "very gothic-inspired" performance.

"We used these ladders, and I'm falling off ladders. Ladders are kind of a monster symbol about bad luck. And I have this 35-foot-long dress on and these X's," Gaga said of her "music video" inspired incorporation into Gossip Girl.

Has 'Gossip Girl' Lost Its Original Magic? Pop Culture Expert Thinks So

What is it called when a once-hit TV show about an omniscient blogger who makes and breaks reputations through the power of her scandal reports finds itself suffering from a lack of buzz from the real-life blogosphere, and a lack of interest from the public?

That's right, you might call it "irony".

Unless you're in the Gossip Girl camp, in which case you should call it a "big, fat problem."

This morning the New York Daily News reports that Gossip Girl, which is in its third season of following the fictitious lives of the Upper East Side's young, rich, and glamorous, is "the show that was once on the tip of everyone's tongue," but "now seems to be in the back of their minds" despite ploys from the CW to dredge up interest using high-profile guest stars (Tyra Banks, Hilary Duff, Sonic Youth) and "controversial" storylines, such as Chuck's (Ed Westwick) "gay kiss," and the upcoming threesome.

So, what took Gossip Girl from "OMG" to "OMZzzzz"?

In short, according to one pop culture expert: it's getting old. And I'm not talking about the newly college-bound characters.

'Gossip Girl' Promo: The Plasticines + Lots of Clips from Next Week's Episode

It doesn't take a genius to figure out why the higher-ups behind Gossip Girl thought all-female band The Plasticines would be the perfect musical guest for next week's episode, 3.09 "They Shoot Humphreys, Don't They?"

The song the group will be performing on the episode, "Bitch," isn't exactly oozing with subtext. More like "in-your-face-references-to-Jenny-and-Blair" text. They literally spell it out for us!

Don't mistake that for criticism. After watching the 3-minute promo for the now even more anticipated "threesome" episode (airing Monday, Nov. 9 at 9 PM on the CW) I have to admit the song isn't just a perfect match--it's perfectly catchy!

Parents Television Council Criticizes Upcoming 'Gossip Girl' Threesome

TheWrap.com has obtained a letter sent from the Parents Television Council to CW affiliates, criticizing their intention to air next week's Gossip Girl episode, "They Shoot Humphreys, Don't They?"

Promos for the episode confirm that it will include a threesome storyline for three major characters on the show, and the PTC is calling the move "reckless and irresponsible" to Gossip Girl's young viewers, and urging affiliates to not air the episode.

According to the site, "CW insiders confirm the Nov. 9 show will end with three characters in a tryst. Flashbacks from their menage-a-OMG will air in future episodes."

In the letter (printed in full after the jump), PTC President Timothy Winter blasts the threesome storyline for negatively influencing teens towards "high-risk" and sexual activity, and the show itself for routinely portraying "promiscuous and consequence-free sexual behavior." If the affiliates air Monday's episode, Winters writes, they will be "complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films."

Here is the full letter from the PTC. The CW has yet to comment.
