Who's Leaving 'Desperate Housewives' Next Episode?

There won't be a new episode of Desperate Housewives this Sunday, but hopefully, that means something good is up two weeks from now. Everything, of course, is just a buildup to the big plane crash in December that will reportedly claim the lives of at least two characters, including a fan favorite.

Anyway, On The Flix is reporting that someone is reacting quite drastically to the second attack on Wisteria Lane. If you missed this week's episode, the coffee shop waitress Emily was strangled and left for dead at the end of the episode.

Everyone's still pretty mum on who will die on the much-debated plane crash on Desperate Housewives, but Dana Delaney, who plays semi-cuckoo Katherine on the ABC comedy, has pretty much ruled out one possibility. That's a start, wouldn't you say?

Delaney reveals to Fox News that the Desperate Housewives cast is already filming the highly anticipated cliffhanger, and at least one character would be safe.

Tonight on Desperate Housewives, it's the episode for those who think Susan (Teri Hatcher) is getting annoying! Following her not so pleasant blast from the past last week, she's sentenced to community service as a punishment for shooting Katherine (Dana Delaney). She had the misfortune of handing over Julie's case to a female detective, who turned out to be someone who still holds some grudge from high school. She locked Susan in last week for not reporting the "accident" of shooting Katherine.

Elsewhere on "The Coffee Cup" her luck finally catches up with her, as someone finally discovers Bree's (Marcia Cross) affair. And to make matters worse, it's none other than Angie (Drea de Matteo), whom she hired last week because she wanted to get her hands on some precious Italian recipes. The two had a little nice dialogue about keeping it and such, mostly having to do with tact.

'Desperate Housewives' Plane Crash Death Revealed

Not a few Desperate Housewives fans scoffed at the idea - what? A plane crashing in the middle of American suburbia? - but it really is pushing through, and the damage to life and property will reportedly be huge. In fact, some sources are squealing that the plane will land directly in one of the main housewives' houses!

A little pause to let this image sink in: Bree (Marcia Cross), Gaby (Eva Longoria-Parker), Lynette (Felicity Huffman), or Susan (Teri Hatcher) sipping their morning coffee until the nose of an airplane juts from the ceiling and debris falls all over.

This morning the People's Choice Award nominations were revealed, and as always, it's populism at its best. On the TV side, the nominees often look like the top of the Nielsen ratings list, with a few notable and surprising exceptions. Shows like True Blood and Gossip Girl crept into the Favorite TV Actress categories while Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show features Lost, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

However, those are the very cool exceptions. For the most part, the list is full of CSI, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Two and a Half Men and other top-rated shows. Here are the major television nominees for this year's People's Choice Awards.

'Desperate Housewives' Recap: Fake Italians and Cleaning Women with PhD's

On Desperate Housewives last night, there were: a cleaning woman with a PhD in engineering, a woman detective who finally got her revenge after decades, and a woman who is slowly growing on me.

The last one is Angie Boleyn (Drea de Matteo), who was able to teach Bree (Marcia Cross) a lesson or two about tact and how Desperate Housewives like her have a tendency to overdo the whole appearance thing. The two had a very nice discussion about "keeping it in" and "letting it out" in reference to personal problems.

Desperate Housewives: Episode 6.7 "Careful the Things You Say"

"Careful the Things You Say" seems to be an appropriate title for tonight's Desperate Housewives episode as our favorite Wisteria Lane residents demonstrate how the slightest slip of the tongue can brew enormous trouble. And compared to last week's episode, in which Bree deceived her husband, Katherine planned on seducing Mike, and Angie basically lied about everything, ABC claims that this is one big episode you wouldn't want to miss.

On tonight's episode of Desperate Housewives, there's cheating, lying, infidelity, and a kid getting kicked off a Thanksgiving pageant for swearing. So yes, it's just like any episode on Desperate Housewives.

On the episode, Lynette (Felicity Huffman) discovers that her husband Tom may be growing backwards, as he has been cheating on his tests and wanting to lead the life of a frat-boy. Meanwhile, the Bolens saga continues, and the latest revelation is Angie (Drea de Mateo) trying to hide the truth about her mother, raising suspicion yet again. Elsewhere on "Don't Walk on the Grass" Gaby (Eva Longoria-Parker) is upset when Juanita is kicked out of the Thanksgiving pageant for swearing. Only, she makes matters worse because she getting involved leads to expulsion. Finally, Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) is inadvertently pushing Bree (Marcia Cross) further to Karl's arms.

'Desperate Housewives' To Last Until 2013?

Ever think Desperate Housewives has jumped the shark? No? You do know that a plane is set to crash on Wisteria Lane in the near future right?

That being said, Variety reports that Desperate Housewives creator and exec producer Marc Cherry has inked a new deal with ABC Studios to extend his duties on the series for two more years. This means Desperate Housewives, which is currently on its sixth season, can remain on air through 2013 by which time it would be on its ninth season.

Sure, the "just turning on the light" closer by the maid at the motorlodge was not exactly brilliant writing, but at least it added a little dimension to this affair storyline that's been going on without not much development happening.

On last night's Desperate Housewives, a maid of all people had to give Bree (Marcia Cross) the blinding flash of the obvious in the context of her affair with Karl - sure, Orson is by and large an awful person and husband, but just the same, what she's doing is not exactly setting the record straight. Sure, it's an old clich??, two wrong's don't make a right, but a couple of things make it effective: the anecdote from the maid, plus the fact that Bree kind of typifies that suburban-housewife-being-all-about-appearances thing.

If you like clowns and/or monkeys attacking clowns, then you should tune in tonight on Desperate Housewives. While neither clowns nor monkeys don't seem like normal fare for the ABC dramedy, it's all over the previews, but that shouldn't be mistaken as a key plot. Instead, we'll see how things can go back for Carlos when Gaby makes an enemy with his client's wife (this is such a Gaby thing to do, isn't it?).

But how can she not, if she tells Gaby that she's a lousy mother - and that she does so to her face.

'Desperate Housewives' Plane Crash First Photos?

The Daily Mail is claiming to have gotten hold of the first photos of the aftermath of the plane crash that is set to take on Wisteria Lane this season on Desperate Housewives. Some viewers of the show are more skeptical, citing an eerie (and spot on) resemblance to the War of the Worlds set at Universal Studios, where Desperate Housewives is also filmed. You be the judge.

To backtrack a little, Desperate Housewives creator said the plane crash is going to be the cliffhanger for the first half of the season and it will affect every character on the show, including killing a couple of others, one of them a fan favorite. This is a reversal of his initial plan to not kill anyone on Wisteria Lane.

Someone's Dying on 'Desperate Housewives'

OK, we previously reported that a plane's going to crash on Wisteria Lane sometime year just in time for the second half of the season (it'll be the cliffhanger). We also reported Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry revealed that the neighborhood plane crash will "affect everyone's lives" no one will die.

Or so we think.

Desperate Housewives: Is the Bolens Storyline Working?

Some critics (and fans, though a slightly more subdued bunch) think that the Bolens storyline isn't working as well as Desperate Housewives probably hoped. Sure, they've got the creepy new neighbors thing working - but that's easy enough, being new and all - but other than that, there wasn't really a lot of interaction between the old housewives and Angie (Drea de Matteo), for instance (except Susan, of course).

So what's not working? The secret bit is there, and it's a juicy one, as we saw on last night's episode of Desperate Housewives. Turns out Julie has brought with her pretty nasty secrets in her return to Wisteria Lane (now I'm not sure if I missed anything, but how did it happen that Julie, who returned for her mom's wedding, and the Bolens arrived in Wisteria Lane at practically the same time? Or was that the whole point?). Unbeknownst to her mommy, Julie quit med school six months ago, worked as a waitress, and got involved with a married man whose name started with a D.

What a title right?

On tonight's episode of Desperate Housewives, John is back, and Gaby is growing weary of his intentions toward niece Ana. Elsewhere, Lynette learns that Tom god a bad grade in college, so she leaves Penny with Tom at school. She also wants her family to help around the house. Meanwhile, Susan learns Julie's been hiding things from her, while Angie throws Danny a party. Finally, Bree and Katherine cater a wedding, but something untoward happens when Katherine becomes emotional over a cake, so expect a very funny scene between these two.

'Desperate Housewives' Recap: Accusations, Past Loves, and Broken Noses

On last night's episode of Desperate Housewives, it's disconcerting how suspicion and obsessive maternal love can rile up a supposedly sane person. Susan was so convinced that it was Danny who was responsible for Julie's attack that it got to a point that Angie had to seek the aid of a baseball bat just to retaliate. Yes, it's become that bad. On one hand, we can understand she's very protective of her daughter, which is well and good, but on the other hand, you got to give the family the benefit of the doubt here.

Elsewhere on Desperate Housewives, it was very interesting how the resurfacing of John in Gaby's life can have such a big effect on her. The kind of happy couple were at a restaurant when John, now divorced and owner of the restaurant, showed up. To complicate matters further, he hired Ana as a hostess. Of course, Gaby assured Carlos that it was al in the past, although the sight of her looking wistfully at a photo booth strip of pictures told us another thing.

Desperate Housewives: Preview of Episode 6.3 "Never Judge a Lady by Her Lover"

Judging from the title alone, this Desperate Housewives episode can very well be Bree-centric. Then again, it can also be about Susan, or Gaby, or Katherine, or Lynette, or Angie. Fine, it can refer to anybody. On "Never Judge a Lady by Her Lover" Angie goes to great lengths to protect her son from the lingering suspicion that he's responsible for the attack on Julie.

Meanwhile, Bree is furious with Karl when she catches him at a restaurant with another woman. Yes, talk about tables being turned. We also get a surprise when someone from Gaby's past returns - John Rowland, her gardener with whom she had an affair. There's something different today, though. Yes, Ana, who exacerbates the problem when she offers to seduce him.

Whitney Houston Not Joining 'Desperate Housewives'

There was much hullabaloo with the rumors that Whitney Houston, he Whitney Houston, is set to visit Wisteria Lane with a recurring role on Desperate Housewives. It was reported that the come-backing diva was in negotiations with ABC people for a recurring role.

Reps for Desperate Housewives had denied these rumors and said no such thing is happening. Houston, who recently made a splash with her Oprah interview and new album, is of course no stranger to acting. Other than The Bodyguard, Waiting to Exhale, and The Preacher's Wife, she had made a cameo appearance as herself on Boston Public in 2003.

Elsewhere on "Being Alive" Lynette withholds a secret from Susan (maybe the pregnancy, don't they know already?), Gaby gives niece Ana advice on how to get a guy's attention, while Bree is understandably worried that her now full-blown affair with Karl will affect her friendship with Susan. 'Desperate Housewives' Creator: Fans Wanted Susan

I didn't know this. According to Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cheery, he originally intended to have Katherine (Dana Delaney) marry Mike (James Denton) in the season 6 opener. However, going around, he changed his mind and instead decided to have Susan (Teri Hatcher) tie the knot lest he incur the fury of fans.

"I originally was going to have Mike marry Katherine, but as I went out into the world on vacation and just started talking to people they were so determined that Mike and Susan should get together; they were so insistent on it. So I started to think, 'What if I went that way?' And it occurred to me that it might be a more effective way to go as opposed to frustrating the fans for another year by keeping Mike and Susan apart. The fans demanded it in a voice so loud I was kind of scared to go against them."

Right from the start of this Desperate Housewives premiere, I was wondering why no one was feeling sorry for Katherine! And as a corollary, why everyone felt happy and nice for Susan conveniently forgetting that Katherine was distraught (I felt the same way when Meredith and Derek got back together and no one remembered that he was dating someone - Nurse Rose - on Grey's). In the final hug, though, my question was answered: it's because she's a bitch.

But there was probably nothing more surprising than the revelation about the new Wisteria Lane family. And it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the son was probably behind what happened in the final scene.

Desperate Housewives: Preview of Season 6 Premiere "Nice is Different Than Good"

Of course, foremost on tonight's Desperate Housewives season 6 premiere is the identity of Mike's (James Denton) bride-to-be - all things and evidence point to Susan (Teri Hatcher), but you just never know on this show. Meanwhile, a new family the Bolen's move into the former Young house on Wisteria Lane - the mom is Angie, played by Drea de Matteo. Lynette (Felicity Huffman) and Tom (Doug Savant) explore the options of her pregnancy. As we all know, she's not only pregnant, she's pregnant with twins. She's not exactly happy, but at least it's better than cancer. Or is it?

Elsewhere on "Nice is Different Than Good" Bree feels guilty after she has sex with Karl (Richard Burgi), while Ana (Maiara Walsh) - that's Carlos' (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) niece who moved in toward the end of last season - goes to a night club and Gaby (Eva Longoria Parker) is really having a hard time to keep her in line. Lastly, Susan is surprised when her daughter Julie (Andrea Bowen) comes home. News flash, Bowen is staying for good, for the rest of the season at least.

Desperate Housewives: Meet the Bolens

Of course, there'd still be the five main households to keep us entertained on Desperate Housewives, but as the show's September 27 kick-off nears, another family will join the fray in true Desperate Housewives tradition.

The Bolens - Angie and Nick, and their teenage son Danny - just like season 2's Applewhites and season 4's Bob and Lee, will have a secret of their own that will most probably run throughout the season. Described as "loving but tough," Angie will be played by Sopranos star Drea de Matteo, Nick will be played by 24's Jeffrey Hordling, while Danny will be played by Beau Mirchoff.

CBS Adds "Breakthrough Performance" to Emmys Telecast

The Emmys are getting a viral, user-generated component this year as CBS is teaming up with Vaseline to sponsor "Breakthrough Performance of the Year," a category which allows viewers to vote for their favorite TV moments of the year, with the top three and winner being revealed on the primetime Emmy Awards telecast Sunday, September 20 on CBS.

The number of things that are unbelievably stupid and wrong with this decision is astounding. Even if you don't like the Emmys, you have to admit that this decision is actively killing what little credibility the Emmys hoped to maintain.
