Uh-oh, Alex, what have you done again?

It's about time that Wizards of Waverly Place--admittedly the only Disney Channel series that I watch--gets a movie, at least on the telly, and while the series always sees Alex (Selena Gomez), Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin) get into some sort of trouble thanks to their magic, this time, the stake couldn't be, well, bigger.

Even the Disney Channel isn't safe from the vampire phenomenon, as Wizards of Waverly Place will be getting a storyline revolving around these bloodsuckers. The four-episode special features new characters, one of which is played by upcoming star Bridgit Mendler.

The 16-year-old actress is the newest girl that the network is banking on, but she's already been around for quite some time. On Wizards of Waverly Place, she'll be portraying the character Juliet who ends up forming a romance with Justin (David Henrie).

'Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana' Sweepstakes Kicks Off

It's some major crossover event on the Disney Channel, when three of their hit series team up for a contest that fans will surely delight in. Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life on Deck, and Hannah Montana are joining forces to bring forth the "Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana" sweepstakes.

From July 12 to Thursday, July 16, the network will be airing sneak peeks of the much awaited event at 8pm. Audiences can take part in the scavenger hunt, which is open to kids aged 6 to 16.

Wizard of Waverly Place: Another Cinderella Story Tonight on ABC Family

Can you imagine Cinderella dropping and leaving behind her MP3 player instead of her glass slippers? Imagine no more, as ABC Family brings a re-imagining of the classic fairy tale in the form of Another Cinderella Story, a 2008 romantic comedy film that debuts on the small screen tonight at 8pm. Wizards of Waverly Place's Selena Gomez stars as the titular character, along with Drew Seeley as the pop idol in place of Prince Charming Joey parker and Jane Lynch as Mary's evil legal guardian Dominique.

In Another Cinderella Story, the modern fairy tale takes place in present day Beverly Hills, with humble and downtrodden servant girl Mary (Gomez) dreaming of becoming a world-class dancer. Just like the old fairy tale, her evil stepmother and washed up diva Dominique (Lynch) alongside her equally evil daughters Bree and Britt stand in her way. When pop star Joey parker goes to town, he announces that he's hosting a contest to find the most talented dancer to star in his new music video. Mary sneaks into the studio to learn the dance moves, and, later, has an encounter with the pop star at the school's masked Black and White Ball. In true Cinderella fashion, she flees the scene and leaves behind her MP3 player. In lieu of a widespread fitting, the pop prince opts to have the girls identify the top song on the playlist.

Dealing with the recent teen drama on the Internet hasn't dimmed the spotlight one bit for Selena Gomez. The star of Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place recently had to confront the media hype concerning a controversy with Hannah Montana's Miley Cyrus. As the issue goes, a YouTube video emerged showing Miley and her best friend Mandy mocking Selena and Camp Rock actress Demi Lovato.

Despite all the publicity, Selena assured everyone that she harbors no hard feelings over the incident. She was seen just the other day at the annual Teen Choice Awards, and was even cheering for the host of the event, Miley Cyrus.

Wizards of Waverly Place is a live-action series which premiered on October 12, 2007 on Disney Channel. Created by Todd J. Greenwald, the show centers on three teenagers, who on the surface seem to lead typical lives but are actually wizards in training.

Leading Wizards of Waverly Place are the Russo children, consisting of Alex Russo, her older brother Justin, and younger brother Max. Unknown to most people, they are young wizards in training, preparing for the ultimate test of their magical skills that will determine which one sibling gets to keep his or her powers. Among the three, Alex often gets into trouble by disobeying her parents, and learns lessons and morals that teach span among friends, family, and school.
