Comic actor Kevin Nealon, who stars as Doug Wilson on the Showtime series Weeds, returns to host the sixth annual Funniest Commercials of the Year Special on TBS. The one-hour special, which premieres on Tuesday, December 15 at 10pm ET/PT, will feature 50 different commercials from all over the word many of which will be seen for the first time on American television.

The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards are this Sunday at 8pm on CBS. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, it looks like two shows will have a stranglehold on the night: Mad Men for Drama and 30 Rock for Comedy, both coming in with an overwhelming lead in total nominations.

2009 Emmy Nominations Preview: What to Expect

It's Emmy nomination eve as TV fans are looking forward to tomorrow morning's Emmy nominations, announced at 8:35am ET by Grey';s Anatomy's Chandra Wilson and The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons.

This year there are plenty of interesting changes and storylines going into the announcement. As always, Grey's Anatomy has plenty of drama, with Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight's behind-the-scenes decisions and Patrick Dempsey's choice to submit himself as a supporting actor for the first time. Expanding the major acting and series categories to six nominees each should also add some extra spice into the morning.

San Diego Comic-Con 2009 Saturday Schedule

The Saturday and Sunday Comic-Con schedules were released over the weekend. I thought things would get really good on Saturday, but the list is less than impressive. I suppose with four full days of Comic-Con, you can spread out the really big panels. Once again, below is a list of our picks for the day. Check it out and if you see anything missing, check the full list here.

One thing I'm curious about is the Chuck panel. Why is it at 10am? Doesn't Chuck deserve one of the better time slots? Wouldn't NBC push for a better panel time? Chuck already had some struggles last season, but this season promises to kick-ass and the new kung fu twist is perfect for the Comic-Con fans. I stand perplexed. Either way, it looks like I'll be spending my morning with a donut, cup of coffee and my favorite show Chuck.

Weeds: Preview of Episode 5.2 "Machetes Up Top"

On tonight's episode of Weeds, Nancy (Mary Louise-Parker) visits Guillermo (Guillermo Diaz) in prison. Guillermo, of course, was beaten up and landed in prison because of Nancy. Meanwhile, Celia (Elizabeth Perkins) is putting her time in the rebel camp to good use by organizing their supplies. As a result of the debacle Nancy finds herself in, meanwhile, Shane (Alexander Gould) decides to visit Nancy's estranged sister (guest star Jennifer Jason Leigh), while Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Doug (Kevin Nealon) are having second thoughts about their "business venture."

On the last episode of the Showtime dark comedy, Nancy made it alive - despite the presence of incriminating pictures of her talking to some FBI agent about the tunnel. That said, she was taken by Mexican crime boss, lover, and Tijuana mayor Esteban (Demian Bichir) to a Mexican gynecologist to have her checked if the sonogram she used to save her life is indeed real. Meanwhile, the rest of the Botwin household was thrown upside down by the incident, with Nancy trying to send the kids away to avert any untoward incident in the future.

Weeds: Preview of Season 5 Premiere

When our favorite pot-selling suburban mom (who has since moved to Ren Mar, California) returns to Showtime tonight, she ponders her fate and her relationship with Mexican crime boss (and Tijuana mayor) Esteban (Demian Bichir). Elsewhere, Celia's (Elizabeth Perkins) daughter Quinn in Mexico finds out there's not much interest or money to gain in holding her mother hostage, and the good ole gang - Andy (Justin Kirk), Doug (Kevin Nealon), and Silas (Hunter Parrish) - contemplate a partnership in the cannabis biz. On "Wonderful Wonderful," the rest of the Botwin household tries to deal with the pregnancy, so maybe this is their way of coping?

When we left Weeds on season 4, Esteban just found out that Nancy (Mary Louise-Parker) ratted out his organization to the police when one of his people showed him a photo of her talking to an FBI agent. To get out of the mess, Nancy showed him a sonogram of a baby inside her womb - supposedly his child. The season closed with Nancy smiling with her big, brown eyes, and the mayor, understandably, confounded on whether to castigate her for what she did or to hug and kiss her for being the mother of his kid. "It feels like a boy," she says.

If you've seen a few episodes of Weeds, you know that several times, its main character Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise-Parker) is not the holiest suburban mother in television. Once or twice, she even did the deed onscreen. We also had a pretty good peek at her behind when she got a U-turn tattoo sometime in the third season.

As we approach the June 8 return of the Showtime's stellar series, Louise-Parker is reportedly crying foul over a nudity scene that she had to do but felt was unnecessary.

Hooked on Weeds: Three Reasons to Watch the Show

Through word of mouth last year, I was told that Weeds, a Showtime Original Series, was worth looking into. Luckily, I stumbled upon a website that offered full episodes of the dark comedy and in just less than a week, I was able to watch the entire three seasons. From the first episode, I was completely hooked and the lack of scripted original programming on the air these days makes this seem all the better.

Weeds is a refreshing yet absurd tale of suburban survival. The show explores family, suburban secrecy and the tainted glamour of the underworld through the life on Nancy Botwin, a widowed mother of two who makes ends meet by selling marijuana. But she's not entirely alone. Andy, her diseased husband's reckless brother, makes up the loose family unit as the kind of unsuitable surrogate father, who gives dating advice and masturbation lessons to his nephews. He's like the cool uncle every young boy wants to have. Then there are also other characters on the show whose storylines keep them just as interesting as the lead.

Golden Globes: 'True Blood','Mad Men' Among Nominees

The Golden Globe Awards honor the best in both television and movies, and though they're not taken as seriously as the Emmys or the Oscars, they're still a lavish, star-studded affair. However, the glitz was put on hold last year due to the writers' strike, forcing the producers of the show to cobble together an awkward news conference to announce the winners. This year, with no strike in sight, the Globes are back to being as glamorous and exciting as ever. The ceremony is set to air on NBC on Sunday, January 11 at 8pm, and is bound to be attended by a cavalcade of big stars.

The nominees for the 66th Annual Golden Globes were announced this morning, and below you'll find a list of all the television categories. Shows like True Blood, Mad Men, 30 Rock and The Office received multiple nominations, while other critically acclaimed shows were surprisingly omitted.

'The West Wing' and 'Weeds' Stars Team up for New NBC Comedy

Emmy Award-winning The West Wing star Bradley Whitford and former Weeds cast Romany Malco will star in a brand new buddy comedy about two detectives with contrasting styles on a on NBC following a successful cast-contingent pilot order last June.

Whitford from the NBC drama and Malco from the Showtime comedy will star on Off Duty, a comedy that will primarily deal with how the two cops would interact. Off Duty will be a single-camera style comedy about a once legendary police veteran who's starting to decline (Whitford) partnered with a young, up-and-coming straight shooter (Malco). As critics note that this is a oft-used formula, the success of the pilot will largely depend on the chemistry of the two actors.

Mary-Louise Parker will soon be engaging in a May/December romance. However, it won’t be on Weeds, the Showtime marijuana-themed series where she stars as the lead character Nancy Botwin. This time, it will be in the upcoming film called Solitary.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Solitary is a drama about an ex-car dealership owner named Ben whose career and marriage have withered because of his morally corrupt behavior. Fifty-four year old Weeds star Kevin Nealon, who plays Doug Wilson on the Showtime series, began his career in the entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian. Long before he graced the television screen with Weeds alongside Mary-Louise Parker, Nealon was a stand-up comic on Saturday Night Live, where he worked from 1986 to 1995. Since then, he had been appearing in television shows such as The Larry Sanders Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm. As for the big screen, Nealon debuted on the film Roxanne, and later appeared on The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore, Get Smart and Don’t Mess with the Zohan.

Today, the actor admits that when he’s recognized on the street, it’s more for his role on Weeds than his long stint on Saturday Night Live.

In the fourth season of Weeds, Nancy relocated her family to the fictional town of Ren Mar, located on the San Diego-Tijuana border, after having set fire to her house and burning it down at the end of the previous season. Here, she started drug trafficking across the border for Guillermo, while Silas set up his own weed business, with her knowledge and Shane gradually started to go off the rails after meeting two girls at his new school. As the season progressed, Nancy forged a relationship with the corrupt Mayor of Tijuana, for whom Guillermo works. And by the end of the season, Esteban, the mayor, discovered that Nancy is the rat. However, moments after being confronted, Nancy informed Esteban that she is pregnant with his child.

As Weeds heads to its fifth season, it seems that Nancy just might see herself out of the mess she got herself into. However, the character's portrayer, Mary-Louise Parker, hopes otherwise.

'Weeds' Among Winners at Eighth Annual Stony Awards

The Stonys must be the most laid back awards ceremony in existence. Unlike the Oscars and the Emmys, which force celebrities to get dressed to the nines so they can show up to collect garish trophies, The Stony Awards are a much more low-key affair. The annual gala is sponsored by High Times magazine and celebrates the "highest and stoniest" movies and TV shows of the year. Past winners include such TV series as Entourage and Weeds, and movies like Knocked Up and Grandma's Boy. It may not be the classiest event in California, but it's probably the most fun to attend.

While fans are still reeling over Monday night’s Weeds season finale, in which Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise Parker) gave us the lowdown—she is very much pregnant. A resounding gasp all over America implied that this was the season’s biggest revelation ever, making the season even more successful with impressive ratings.

In fact, the episode averaged around one million viewers, surpassing last year’s season finale, which garnered 737,000 viewers. 'Weeds' Season 4 Finale Airs Tonight

Tonight makrs the end of another year of Weeds as the show airs its season 4 finale. Backtracking a bit on Showtime’s Weeds, we saw Nancy (Mary Louise Parker) discover that the tunnel was being used for more than just drugs in Episode 4.10, “The Love Circle Overlap.” In that same episode, we followed Esteban as he relieved her of her massive headache with a powerful remedy, while Celia’s family staged an intervention and threw her into rehab. Andy was able to locate Maria, who he dragged across the border to Doug, while at home, Silas baby sat as Shane became adventurous with his two new girlfriends.

The following episode, “Head Cheese” saw Nancy dealing with the effects of Shane’s exploits, while Celia struggled with her rehab partner Barry, and thus led her to find a new rehab facility. Doug and Maria encountered some relationship problems and turned to Andy for help while Silas was forced to ask Nancy for help regarding his “sandwich” business, which has grown too big.

'Weeds' Airs Tonight With "The Whole Blah Damn Thing," Plus Updates on Mary-Louise Parker

Weeds fans are on a roll with Season 4 of the highly-anticipated series currently underway on the Showtime network. The network is currently airing back-to-back episodes, which begins at 9pm. Tonight, fans will get a recap of Episode 4.1 “Mother Thinks the Birds Are After Her” at 9, then “Lady’s a Charm” at 9:30, followed by “The Whole Blah Damn Thing” at 10pm, and finally, “The Coolers” at 11pm.

So what exactly is in store for tonight’s back-to-back episode? First of all, on Episode 4.3, “The Whole Blah Damn Thing,” fans will get to see Nancy successfully pulling off her run across the border with illegal drugs and human cargo in tow. Meanwhile, Captain Till undergoes negotiations with Celia to get her out of jail, forcing her to dig up evidence that would implicate Nancy and Guillermo. In Ren Mar, Andy tries to convince his family, especially his father, to help end Bubbie’s misery.
