True Blood: Season 3 Spoilers

True blood may have wrapped up its second season but it left us with enough questions to ponder on until the show returns for season 3. Who took Bill? What is Sookie? Will Sam finally meet his real parents? What will happen to Jessica and Hoyt? We won't know for sure until True Blood returns next fall. It's going to be a long wait, seven excruciating months to be exact but, luckily, I've stumbled upon some spoilers to pass the time.

Take note, however, that some of these spoilers are not confirmed by the network so read at your own risk.

People's Choice Award Nominees: 'True Blood,' 'Gossip Girl' and the Usual Suspects

This morning the People's Choice Award nominations were revealed, and as always, it's populism at its best. On the TV side, the nominees often look like the top of the Nielsen ratings list, with a few notable and surprising exceptions. Shows like True Blood and Gossip Girl crept into the Favorite TV Actress categories while Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show features Lost, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

However, those are the very cool exceptions. For the most part, the list is full of CSI, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Two and a Half Men and other top-rated shows. Here are the major television nominees for this year's People's Choice Awards.

True Blood: Casting Werewolf Alcide and Psycho Ex-Girlfriend

We've been hearing about a bunch of new characters coming on board for the third season of True Blood but so far, only Tony winner Denis O'Hare has been cast to play Russell Edgington, the King of Mississippi. Now Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reports that casting is underway for Werewolf Alcide, who debuted in the third Sookie novel Club Dead and will be prominently appearing on the new season of the HBO series, and his psycho ex-girlfriend Debbie Pelt.

While the specifics about Werewolf Alcide have not been disclosed, the casting people behind True Blood have made it known that Debbie Pelt would be played by a 20 to 30 something knockout and is described as "sporty and spiteful, with black hair."

True Blood: Who Kidnapped Bill?

After watching 12 episodes of True Blood last season, we were left with several cliffhangers to chew on. But among all the puzzling questions, perhaps the most intriguing one is the mystery behind Bill's abduction. Who kidnapped Bill and why? That's all part of the appeal of True Blood's third season, which will probably kick off next fall around the same time it did this year. For now, I'm toying with four possible suspects.

'True Blood' Crowns its King

All hail the king! Move over Queen Sophie-Anne, there's another royalt presence next season. True Blood has cast Tony winner Denis O'Hare to fill the shoes of the King of Mississippi, marking the first casting news for the third season of the HBO series.

Denis O'Hare may not ring a bell for most of you but you've probably seen the veteran actor on several occasions. He has appeared as a guest star on several episodes of Law & Order and its spin-offs, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He has also most notably appeared on 10 episodes of Brothers & Sisters, and graced movies such as 21 Grams, Garden State, Half Nelson, Milk and Charlie Wilson's War.

True Blood: Series Creator Alan Ball Sheds Light on Finale Questions

The second season ender of True Blood has left fans somewhat divided, with some fans describing the conclusion as predictable and a huge letdown while others thought that it was a satisfying ending to a bunch of loose ends. On the other hand, one thing fans are unanimous about is the anticipation of season 3, which is likely to kick off next fall, around the same time it did this year. Until then, we're left with bunch of cliffhangers, including the mystery surrounding Sookie's nature, Sam's quest for his real parents, and Tara dealing with the aftermath of Eggs' death.

Luckily, True Blood series creator Alan Ball has shed light on some of the mysteries that have been haunting fans.

'True Blood' Finale Sets Up More Cliffhangers

"What is with the egg? Did you lay it?" Sookie asked Maryann in last night's True Blood finale. It's the most odd and baffling mystery in the entire season but sadly all we got was an underwhelming answer: It's an ostrich egg that represents fertility! At least, it wasn't some kind of sci-fi alien-related explanation, right? Still, the season ender wasn't without the show's typical bizarre antics.

It's time to celebrate because the moment has come for True Blood to wrap up its second season. In Bon Temps, however, the Maryann has a particularly twisted brand of merriment. She's throwing a party alright but it's not the kind I want to be a part of.

Nothing's changed in Bon Temps since Maryann, the devil-worshipping maenad, still has the town's residents in the palm of her hand. In fact, things have turned from bad to worse with Tara and Lafayette now under Maryann's spell while a giant egg sits on a large bed nest in Sookie's grandma's old room.

'True Blood' Cast Headed to Dunder Mifflin for 'Office' Wedding

This early, the Jim-Pam (John Krasinski-Jenna Fischer) Niagara Falls nuptial is being called one of the more heavily anticipated TV weddings in recent memory. The Office people would like us to believe, according to the initial spoilers at least, that the wedding will reportedly not include any of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton employees. But we know that's not going to happen.

Yes, there have been photos of the wedding and the dress, but today, E! Online reports that True Blood anti-vampire Sarah Newlin will head from Louisiana to Niagara Falls to join the wedding entourage. Anna Camp, who in all fairness bears a striking resemblance to Fischer, will play Pam's sister Penny. After several seasons, we heard virtually nothing about the other Beesly, but for the resemblance alone, this casting is made of win.

Another 'True Blood' Couple Alert

Could there be something in the water on the set of True Blood because it looks like Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer aren't the only ones who have hooked up? Word on the street is that Alexander Skarsgard, who plays sexy hot vampire Eric Northman, and Evan Rachel Wood, who portrays Queen Sophie-Ann, are now an item.

Unlike Perez Hilton, who first hinted on the couple alert and clearly detests the hook-up, I don't really have any strong feelings about Skarsgard and Wood getting together. But it's interesting to see how their off-screen romance will play out. Will they follow in the footsteps of Paquin and Moyer, who just recently got engaged? I doubt it.

It's Hoyt Turn to Take the Spotlight on 'True Blood'

Bill, Sookie and Eric's love triangle may have stolen the spotlight on True Blood but there's another couple on the HBO vampire series that's far more refreshing to watch these days. If you're a fan of this show, you'd know that I'm referring to sweet good-hearted Hoyt and newborn bloodsucker Jessica.

Apart from playing Jason's pal, Hoyt didn't leave me a big impression on the first season of True Blood so it came as a pleasant surprise when he got all caught up in the world of vampires in season 2. Heck not even his portrayer Jim Parrack expected Hoyt to have a juicy storyline for season 2. So with no background on the Charlaine Harris novels and no idea about how to proceed with Hoyt, Parrack kept his character mostly original.

True Blood sure has a lot of mysteries to unravel, whether it's about vampires, shape shifters, maenads or whatever the hell Sookie is. But there's another mystery that came to my attention as I went through your comments in my article last week. BuddyTV reader Dogdogdog particularly caught my interest when she posted, "i got a question that will make you all think some more... how did the queen know about sookie and bill never mentioned her... and bill never ask the queen how did she know about her... its a set up i think...that queen and bill is plotting something."

'True Blood' Actor Heading for 'The Deep End'

No, this isn't some kind of spoiler to the fate of Mehcad Brooks' on True Blood but it does make you wonder if Eggs isn't sticking around for season 3, especially if you've read my article earlier this week.

Brooks, who has also appeared on the popular TV drama Desperate Housewives as Matthew Applewhite, is set to return to ABC as part of the cast of the network's midseason drama, The Deep End. This dramatic comedy follows four young new lawyers with different backgrounds who enter one of the most prestigious law firms in Los Angeles, Sterling Law.

CBS Adds "Breakthrough Performance" to Emmys Telecast

The Emmys are getting a viral, user-generated component this year as CBS is teaming up with Vaseline to sponsor "Breakthrough Performance of the Year," a category which allows viewers to vote for their favorite TV moments of the year, with the top three and winner being revealed on the primetime Emmy Awards telecast Sunday, September 20 on CBS.

The number of things that are unbelievably stupid and wrong with this decision is astounding. Even if you don't like the Emmys, you have to admit that this decision is actively killing what little credibility the Emmys hoped to maintain.

True Blood: Who Will Make the Ultimate Sacrifice?

In less than two weeks, True Blood will wrap up its second season, possibly leaving us with yet another cliffhanging mystery arc for season 3. But before we even go there, we first need to solve Bon Temps' main problem: Maenad Maryann! Based on Queen Sophie-Ann's revelation last week, maenads are stupid supernatural beings hoping to find the perfect vessel which will summon their God so that they can be ravished and devoured, literally. And the only way to beat Maryann is to attack her when she's in her "frenzied" mode.

Obviously, taking down Maryann won't be easy. And if you've seen HBO's preview of True Blood's second season finale, you'd know that someone's life is on the line.

True Blood: Queen Sophie-Ann and the Giant Egg

In anticipation of the climactic final battle with maenad Maryann, I was overly excited about "Frenzy." The episode setup good groundwork for the finale, however, it didn't really live up to all the hype. It was also a bit of a let down seeing one scene jump to another without any major developments. On the other had, there were so many revelations in this installment alone, including Hoyt's sad backstory, Sookie's cousin, Eric lusting after teacup humans, and Sookie and Lafayette both admitting to being subconsciously obsessed with the Viking vamp.

For those who have not seen the episode yet, don't go any further. But for those who have, read on and weigh in on the highlights.

True Blood: Preview of Episode 2.11 "Frenzy"

Tonight marks the penultimate episode of True Blood's sophomore season and, as expected, the crisis in Bon Temps is careening out of control. After Bill's futile efforts to get a hold of Maryann, it looks like it's all up to the higher powers that be in Louisiana.

But before we get a taste of what's in store for tonight, here's what happened so far: Sookie, Bill and Jason finally returns to Bon Temps only to find that their town has been turned upside down, thanks to Maryann. After last week's emotionally driven episode, it was bracing to see True Blood return its focus on Bon Temps with so much vigor and action. I already had an idea that "New World in My View" would involve chaos, organs, kidneys, livers and some sort of goal, which Sam wittily describes as "Maryann wants to cut out my heart while a bunch of naked people watch," but I never expected to be on the edge of my seat while I laughed so hard in what appeared to be the funniest moment ever on True Blood.

Tonight's episode of True Blood shifts its focus back on Bon Temps, a town that looks like it's been hit by a hurricane. But we all know that no tropical cyclone caused the big catastrophe. It's all about wicked Maryann and her endgame is about to unfold in the episode "New World in My View."

But before anything else, let's recap: After the big explosion, Eric gets hurt and takes advantage of Sookie's good nature by convincing her to suck out the silver bullets (and his blood) from his body, much to the dismay of Bill, who reveals that Sookie will now find herself attracted to Eric sexually. Lafayette and Lettie Mae try to save their kin from Maryann's clutches but to no avail while Sam tries to set himself free and avoid Maryann by turning into a fly. On the other hand, Godric decides to take the fall for the PR mess and commits suicide by sunlight.

True Blood: Godric's Exit Delivers Emotional Punch

True Blood fans were hoping that episode 9 would put an end to Maryann's wicked schemes but it only paved the exit for yet another character. Godric, who's considered the oldest vampire in New World and who has only been around for four episodes, committed suicide by sunlight to atone for his sins. Clearly, there were "centuries of faith and love between" Godric and Eric, and it's unfortunate that we've only seen a fraction of his so-called greatness.

Lindsey Haun Joins the Cast of 'True Blood'

Lindsey Haun, singer and the former lead vocalist of hard rock band 7th Fall, has just landed herself a new TV gig. She's set to join the cast of True Blood for at least three episodes this season and will appear as Sookie's cousin Hadley.

At this point, there is no word yet on why cousin Hadley is being brought into the picture. But according to Haun, she's also filmed scenes with Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, and Evan Rachel Wood so her debut on the HBO vampire series must be quite intriguing.

'True Blood' Recap: Maker's Mark and a Heart-y Meal

This week's episode of True Blood settled the Fellowship of the Sun story arc, or at least it tried to. Godric, the Gandhi of vampires, was front and center with his message of hope and change, and the relationships of three makers and their vampire offspring proved key. Oh, and True Blood finally came up with something even more disgusting than Bill and Sookie's dirt sex.

Watching gory vampires has always intrigued me but after seeing Godric on last week's episode of True Blood, this HBO series piqued my interest even more. There's just something about an ancient vampire (over two thousand years old) who effortlessly projects power and wisdom behind such a youthful facade. At any rate, there's no denying that he's a big part of this season's storyline and that we'll be seeing more of him in the episodes to come, including tonight's installment called "Timebomb."
