FOX Fall Schedule: 'Dollhouse' Renewed, 'So You Think You Can Dance' Season 6

Today FOX officially announced its schedule for the 2009-2010 TV season, and some of the changes are huge.?? Aside from the great news that Dollhouse will be coming back for a second season, the other big story is that So You Think You Can Dance, which premieres its fifth season this Thursday, will air in the Fall as well for an immediate sixth season.

The So You Think You Can Dance move is unusual, but helps to balance out the schedule since FOX has American Idol in the Spring.?? It also gives FOX the chance to do direct competition with Dancing with the Stars, a show that in recent seasons has taken several professional from former SYTYCD contestants.

Brad Garrett is a funny dude. I'm not sure anybody would deny that. He spent years as the comedic foil to Ray Romano on Everybody Loves Raymond. He's won Emmys. He's been a working comedian for over two decades. No one doubts his comedic ability. However, audiences, even after his noteworthy, long-tenured run on Everybody Loves Raymond, haven't been inclined to check out Garrett's new series 'Til Death. The traditional sitcom will begin its third season tonight, and FOX hopes audiences will start coming around. Til Death also stars sitcom veteran Joely Fisher as Garrett's wife, plus youngsters Eddie Kay Thomas and Kat Foster as the couple next door. Last month, we got a chance to sit down with Garrett and Fisher and talk about Til Death. Or, at least that was the idea.

Jason Alexander, best known for his role as George Costanza on the hit eponymous series Seinfeld, will soon be making his way back to primetime comedy. This time, however, he'll be going behind the camera for an episode of Til Death.

Written and executive-produced by husband-and-wife team Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, Til Death stars Eddie Kaye Thomas and newcomer actress Kat Foster as newlyweds who move next door to a couple, played by Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher, who have been married for more than two decades. The series sheds light on how the newlyweds get a surprising look at what the future might hold.

Brad Garrett seemingly jumped onto the bandwagon of hopeless romantics as he is set to launch his own reality dating series. The actor, who played the lovelorn Robert Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, has found himself in the same spot as his character—looking for love in the wrong places. With the help of technology and the right media, Garrett is setting out on a journey to find a woman with whom he can share a connection, and hopefully a lasting relationship with.

Sony Pictures TV will be producing Dating Brad Garrett, the 10-episode long series which will be co-produced by Garrett himself. Ten women will be picked to be part of this new Internet reality series. Interested individuals can now send in their video applications through Crackle.com/DateBrad.

'Til Death' Actor to Appear on 'Monk'

Brad Garrett has become a household name as one of the stars of the long-running sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond and his most recent show 'Til Death. Now, the 48-year-old actor will be branching out to yet another comedy series. This time, however, it comes with a touch of police procedural drama.

The ‘Til Death actor has just sign on to appear on Monk's upcoming seventh season, which is expected to premiere on July 18. According to TV Guide, Garrett is set to play a handyman who helps Monk lead star Tony Shalhoub with his home renovations.

It's been two years since Brad Garrett portrayed Robert Barone, the virtuous yet often neglected brother of Ray Barone (Ray Romano) on Everybody Loves Raymond, but quite a lot of fans still associate him with his infamous role that catapulted him to stardom and earned him numerous awards. But according to the 47-year-old actor, who now stars on another sitcom called 'Til Death, he feels closer playing his present role, which comes in the form of a Jewish high school history professor named Eddie Stark.

On 'Til Death, Garrett plays the husband of Joy Stark (Joely Fisher), a father to a college-aged child named Allie (Krysten Ritter), and the know-it-all neighbor who gives newlyweds, Steph Woodcock (Kat Foster) and Jeff Woodcock (Eddie Kaye Thomas) a surprising look at what their future might hold. ‘Til Death is one of the few young comedy shows that was picked up for another season, and series star Brad Garrett believes the show's success is due to its realistic portrayal of married couples and their less-than-perfect life.

“What makes [‘Til Death] funny is that we're really trying to mirror what married couples have in common,” Garrett said. “The key in any comedy is to hit a chord or a nerve that makes people relate to it… What we're doing is… taking it to a level of a little more reality. It isn't bliss, it isn't the white picket fence, it isn't all great. It's a work in progress, any marriage is, be it new or old.”

Writers Remain with 'Til Death

Writers for Fox’s comedy series, ‘Til Death, have signed a deal with Sony Pictures that gives them until 2009 to work with the show.

Alex Barnow and Marc Firek, who also served as writers for such shows as Family Guy, In-Laws, Out of Practice and Like Family, will act as the show’s supervising producers next season. The deal Barnow and Firek made with Sony Pictures also includes any project that they may develop in the future.

January is upon us, 2007 has begun its tyrannical, 300-plus day reign, and our favorite TV shows will no longer bludgeon us with repeats. Why do they say all that stuff at weddings about "sickness and health, richer and poorer, for better or for worse, 'til death do you part?" They say it because things are better, and a lot of times, things are worse. At some point, you're both gonna get sick, you might be poor, and you'll never sleep with anyone else ever again ... because you're gonna be with each other until you die. Doesn't marriage sound like fun?
