The plots would normally revolve around the community college - "loser college, remedial teens, 20-something drop-outs, middle-age divorcees, and old people keeping their minds active as they circle the drain of eternity."

Celebs Offer Conan Words of Wisdom for First 'Tonight Show'

After 16 years of filming Late Night with Conan O'Brien, tonight the redheaded funnyman begins his new gig as the host of The Tonight Show. He'll be joined by Will Ferrell, musical guest Pearl Jam, and will have former Late Night co-host Andy Richter by his side once more.

In anticipation of his Tonight debut, many of Conan's celebrity friends--including 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin, Apprentice host Donald Trump, and others--offered words of encouragement and advice to O'Brien, who will have all of America watching to see how he makes the gig his own.

As O'Brien recently told the New York Times, "There's an opportunity to
put my stamp on this show. I've got an ego, and I want to do my Tonight Show."
NBC Unveils Fall Line-up, Six New Shows Ordered, No Word on 'Chuck'

NBC unveiled their slate of programs for the 2009-2010 season this morning. Six new pilots were picked up (two comedies, four dramas). NBC failed to concoct an actual day-by-day schedule for the Fall - they are expected to release that schedule within a couple of weeks. Not mentioned during NBC's announcement this morning were the likes of Chuck, Medium, My Name is Earl, Law & Order and Life. Some of those series could get picked up for mid-season. As of right now, the fall schedule looks filled to the brim, especially when you consider that Jay Leno's new show will be taking up five hours of prime-time per week. For Chuck fans, the wait continues, although the forecast isn't terribly bright. Shows picked up for next season include Parks and Recreation, Southland and Heroes. NBC has also ordered six more episodes of Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday for the Fall.

Here's a rundown of the six new shows from NBC:

Biting Television Commentary on 'The Soup'

If you find yourself gritting your teeth whenever you watch Tila Tequila, Denise Richards, Tyra Banks, Sanjaya Malakar, Gary Busey, Domenico Nesci, Kim Kardashian, and other television personalities, then you will most probably enjoy watching The Soup. Hosted by the bitingly sarcastic Joel McHale, the weekly E! series recaps several pop culture especially television shows of the week. Typically, McHale will show clips from the weeks' shows, which will be followed by some satirical commentary or funny remark.
