VH1's 'The Pickup Artist' Returns for Second Season

After last season's amazing tales of transformation, VH1 continues the success of its reality series, The Pickup Artist. The ultimate ladies' man, Mystery, returns for the second season to train nine socially awkward contestants in the art of wooing women. The show kicked off just last week, with Mystery being joined by his wingman Matador, and wing-woman Tara.

From the start of the episode, Mystery shows that it's better to be tough with the boys. He's going to eliminate one of them even if they all just got there. However, we get a chance to get to know each of the guys vying for the title, “Master Pickup Artist.”

After spending eight weeks living under one roof with seven guys, Kosmo, the winner of MTV's The Pickup Artist, was bound to make friends and foes alike. Although the 23-year-old artist claims all eight of them are good pals, there were some who at times got on his bad side during the competition.

“Scott bothered me sometimes with some of his remarks. So I just ignored him. I'll honestly never be able to relate to Scott, I honestly think Scott is a robot. Like if we sprayed water on him, he would break down,” Kosmo told VH1 in an interview following his win. However, Kosmo also commended Scott for his tremendous efforts and said that out of all the men who competed in the show, Fred was the least deserving.

After a month of field challenges and embarrassing rejections, the first season of MTV's The Pickup Artist is finally over. Out of the eight awkward guys who participated in the show, Kosmo, formerly known as Alvaro, was named the winner of the competition during Monday's finale episode.
The Pickup Artist served as a boot camp for the eight men, all of whom have experienced immense difficulty with interacting with women. Mystery, a well-known figure in the seduction community, and his wingmen, Matador and J Dog, gave the guys new looks, taught them the best tricks of the trade and subjected them to several tests, including “bouncing” a woman, picking out lingerie, and kissing Tara, one of Mystery's wingwomen.

'The Pickup Artist' Finale Airs Tonight

This is it. Tonight's the night when dating guru, Mystery, names the head of his dating crash course class as Master Pickup Artist and winner of $50,000. The Pickup Artist season finale airs over VH1 at nine tonight.

We are down to just two students – the once-shy photographer turned blonde sweet-talker, Brady, and the daydreamer programmer formerly known as Alvaro, who now goes by the moniker, Kosmo. Ahead of tonight's finale, the two protagonists spent a lazy day indoors, playing pool and psyching each other out. They also shared their individual thoughts on their respective routes to reaching the final.

VH1's guide to dating for losers, The Pickup Artist, may not be raking in stellar numbers according to the Nielsen Ratings, but the show certainly seems to be having a ripple effect beyond the boob tube.

In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, women are finding it difficult to comprehend the proliferation of PUAs or pick up artists in their locale. Apparently, The Pickup Artist reality show has inspired a band of real-life PUAs to help each other out.

In case you haven't heard, there's a new reality show on VH1 that teaches socially inept men the art of attracting and “picking up” women. Fittingly called The Pickup Artist, the series takes place in Austin, Texas and currently airs Mondays nights at 9pm.

The Pickup Artist features eight misfits living together as they learn and compete for the title of “Master Pickup Artist.” With the guidance of Mystery, best-selling author and nerd turned expert pickup artist, and his wingmen Matador and J Dog, participants attempt to turn the women of their dreams into the women of their reality through a rigorous boot camp.
