If Moonlight couldn't survive this timeslot, The Ex List never had a chance. According to TVGuide, The Ex List is being axed effective immediately.

Technically, CBS is only removing it from the schedule, though at this point, the cancellation is just a formality. This Friday, a repeat of NCIS will air Friday at 9pm, and it will probably do better than The Ex List.

The Ex List: Upcoming Guest Stars Revealed

When The Ex List premiered earlier this month, Bella Bloom and the rest of the girls serve as eye candy especially for the show's male viewers. But as Bella begins to re-open doors to the past and search for her future husband among her exes, it seems that the program's crowd-puller may have shifted to its hunky guest stars.
In an interview with TV Guide, lead star Elizabeth Reaser reveals who's coming on The Ex List as Bella's former beaus.

The Ex List: To Watch or To Ditch?

A few days ago, BuddyTV’s very own Debbie Chang reviewed CBS’ The Ex List, which began airing as a fall offering last week. The show, which stars Grey's Anatomy's Elizabeth Reaser, follows 30something Bella as she embarks on a journey to find Mr. Right (within a time frame of one year), a task she must complete or else she'd spend the rest of her life alone, a psychic warns her. The catch is that she has already found Mr. Right and his name is in her list of failed relationships. Recently, Elizabeth Reaser spoke to TV Guide to reveal some thoughts on her character, which is lighter and more fun than her heavy drama counterpart on Grey’s Anatomy.
I am an unmarried urban woman in my 20s who has had her share of breakups but who still plans to get married some day. Watching this show should be like looking at a mirror onto my soul. I should be finding a fictional kindred spirit in this show, but let me tell you, I found The Ex List excruciating to watch.

The Ex List stars Elizabeth Reaser (she of Grey’s Anatomy ferry victim fame) as Bella Bloom, a 33-year-old proprietress of a flower shop with a penchant for saying “dude.” She visits a psychic as part of the festivities of her sister’s bachelorette party where she learns that the man she is supposed to marry is one whom she has already had a romantic relationship with. The only catch is, she must reconnect with him and marry him within a year; otherwise, she will be doomed to spend eternity alone.
Judging this year's new shows is a lot harder than in past years. Usually networks have finished pilots to screen for critics well in advance of their premieres, but because the writers' strike threw everything off balance, many shows are retooling their pilots until the last minute, leaving critics with little more than five-minute trailers and general descriptions to make our judgments.

While this year's crop is nowhere near as brilliant as last year (with Chuck, Gossip Girl, Pushing Daisies and countless other successes), the sense this time is that the networks are looking to find established fan bases. Many new shows are remakes of either British shows or classic American ones.

BuddyTV Fall 2008 Preview: The Ex List

For exclusive on-set videos and hot features on the new TV season, check out BuddyTV's Fall 2008 Preview.

During the news conference, Ruggiero provided a little background about the premise of The Ex List. The lead character, Bella Bloom, will be played by Elizabeth Reaser. She is soon confronted by a psychic about her relationships. According to her, Bella's husband is someone from Bella's past, someone she has already dated. The psychic Marina, which is a vital element in the story, will be played by Anne Nahabedian.

Top 10 Quotes from the TCA Press Tour

Though I was only in Los Angeles for four days of panel sessions at the Television Critics Association press tour, it was enough to glimpse the utter insanity that is the event. Days are packed with session after session as more than 100 TV critics ask questions to the new stars and showrunners as well as network executives.

Some panels aren't quite as packed as others, which makes it easy to notice TV critic biases. Getting the press to ask questions to The Real Housewives of Atlanta was like pulling teeth. However, if you stick around long enough you're bound to get a few hilariously off-the-cuff quotes. Culled from four days and more than 30 panels, I present my 10 favorite quotes from my time at this year's press tour.

Live from the TCA Press Tour: CBS' New Fall Shows

Today was my first day at the Television Critics Association summer press tour as an official TCA member. Arriving at the massive ballroom at the Beverly Hilton, it's a tad intimidating to see about 200 fellow TV critics (nearly all lit by the glow of their laptops) facing the stage where the new shows will attempt to explain why we should care about them.

I'll be here in Los Angeles for the next five days covering all the hot panels, attending the swanky parties and set visits, and reporting back on what happens when TV critics and stars collide.

Fall Anticipation Rankings: #8 - The Ex List

BuddyTV is looking at the 17 new shows the major networks will premiere this Fall to see which ones are worth getting excited about and which ones we have low expectations for.
