'Shark' Actress To Guest Star on 'Eli Stone'

Another guest star has been added to Eli Stone's star-studded sophomore season. Most recently, Shark's Danielle Panabaker has signed on to join the cast of the ABC surrealistic drama about an attorney who is discovered to have a brain aneurysm that causes hallucinations or, as Dr. Chen suggests, divinely inspired visions of the future.

Not much has been revealed about Panabaker's role on Eli Stone though Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reports that her involvement on the show is quite big. Fans will just have to stay tuned for more updates.

'Shark' Alum Joins 'Numbers'

When CBS rolled out its list of 25th-hour pickups last month, Shark didn't make it to the happy list and its run ended at the close of its sophomore season. Among those that were left unemployed by its cancellation was Sophina Brown, who had essayed the role of Raina Troy.

Brown is back among the gainfully working now, after being tapped to fill in a void on another CBS show, Numb3rs.

Shark: Series Finale Airs Tonight

Tonight, not only will fans have to say goodbye to the second season of Shark, but they will also have to bid farewell to the entire cast of the legal drama for good. While CBS has given good news to bubble shows like The Unit, How I Met Your Mother and The New Adventures of Old Christine, the network has opted to cancel the James Woods drama.

Shark Returns Tonight with First Post-Strike Episode

Following three months of hiatus since the show aired its last episode in January, the CBS legal drama Shark returns tonight with the much-awaited episode "Bar Fight." For the remaining episodes of the second season, Shark will once again shift to a new timeslot. Effective tonight, the network will be moving the series to Tuesdays at 9pm, which also applies for its next three broadcasts.

When we last saw Shark, Sebastian Stark (James Woods) saw a dark secret surface after a bullet with his name on it killed friend and former law partner Paul Faber (Joe Spano). In attempt to put the man responsible behind bars, Stark confessed to conniving in the cover-up of a murder 12 years ago. The question is will he lose his license for testifying?

'Shark' Actress Prioritizes Family Over Career

The writers' strike has the television industry at a standstill, with many actors and crew members forced to go on an early break. Having the extra time has proven to be a good thing for Shark actress Jeri Ryan, however, as it has given her the chance to focus on the most important thing in her life: her family.

“Family is always the most important thing. Always. Your marriage, your children -- that's life. That is what's important; that is the real substance of life,” Ryan, who is expecting her first child with second husband Christopher Eme, told ModernMom.com.

'Shark' Actress Stars in Sports Drama Movie

Danielle Panabaker, one of the cast members of Shark, will be gracing the silver screen next year with a coming of age sports drama written and directed by Rusty Gorman called Home of the Giants. The 20-year-old actress will be joining Haley Joel Osment (Sixth Sense, Pay it Forward) as the lead.

Home of the Giants is a story about friendship and basketball, centering on a high school journalist named Gar (Osment). He covers the school's basketball team as it heads toward a state championship but things go awry when his best friend, Matt (Ryan Merriman), who is also the basketball team's main “star,” is asked by his brother Keith (Kenneth Mitchell), to steal money from a drug dealer's home. As Matt partakes in the heist, Gar tags along and inevitably gets caught in the middle.

James Woods has been in the entertainment industry since the early 1970s, but the actor says it wasn't until he began appearing on CBS' Shark that he truly felt like a star.

"I did, like, 127 movies and I never made a dime. I wasn't really sure how much of a star I was, frankly… But for the first time ... I sort of feel like it,” Woods told the Deseret Morning News. "I think that not because [Shark is] successful, but I think you are a star in a sense when a character meshes with what people may really hope to expect from you. I never really had a character that was kind of smart and funny and fast talking and maybe kind of cut the corners a little bit. And was a little bit, sometimes, ethically challenged in tactics and strategies, but certainly ethically solid when it came to the final goal of right and wrong."

'Shark' Season 2 Premieres Tonight

The second season of Shark premieres tonight with D.A.s Jessica Devlin (Jeri Ryan) and Danny Reyes helping defense-attorney-turned-prosecutor Sebastian Stark (James Woods) with his homicide case after his sole witness is killed by a car bomb.

Fans can expect to see new faces this season, including actors Kevin Alejandro (Big Love, The Young and the Restless), Kevin Pollack (The Drew Carey Show, Life with Bonnie) and Orla Brady (Family Law). Alejandro will play a criminal prosecutor named William Lyons, while Pollack will portray Sebastian's new boss, D.A. Lloyd Cutler. Brady will appear in a number of episodes as Sebastian's ex-wife, a role which was originated by Lindsay Frost in the pilot. Arnold Vosloo guest stars in the premiere episode.

A man convicted of once stalking Shark star, Jeri Ryan, during her days as the sultry Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager is once again in the headlines. This time, he finds himself in hot water for threatening an entire wrestling team.

Twenty-nine year old Marlon Pagtakhan of Burlingame, California was taken into custody last August 11 for allegedly going to the All Pro Wrestling studio in Hayward, screaming at some of the wrestlers and challenging them to a fight. Pagtakhan, formerly a student of the All Pro Wrestling club, had previously sent sinister text and instant messages to six wrestlers there. He had also been pestering a female wrestler known as “MsChif” for a year. Pagtakhan now faces 14 counts of stalking and three counts of felony threats.

Finally. After a month of holidays, egg nog, and more Snoopy and Ralphie Parker than one knows what to do with, we're finally back to normal. January is upon us, 2007 has begun its tyrannical, 300-plus day reign, and our favorite TV shows will no longer bludgeon us with repeats. Tomorrow, January 3rd, brings the return of a couple of our favorites, as well as two brand new shows. CBS has ordered a full season for the James Wood's led legal thriller Shark after the fall-freshman proved the ability to hold-on to its Fourteen-plus-million viewers. Over its first five airings, Shark has managed to land at number 2 in the highly competitive Thursday 10:00pm est time slot. While clearly no serious competition for current mainstay Grey's Anatomy, (somewhere around a bazillion viewers at last check), CBS hopes Shark's impressive numbers provide a must-have slice of the coveted payday demographic.

James Woods is a great actor, and when given quality material, he routinely knocks it out of the park. Spike Lee directed the pilot of Shark, and Shark also has a strong supporting cast.
