NBC Kills 'Quarterlife' After One Episode

There are many television shows that get yanked off the air before they get a chance to prove themselves. Viva Laughlin was put out of its misery after two episodes. The late, great Wonderfalls was canceled after only four episodes. The classic My So-Called Life at least made it 19 episodes, but that still wasn't nearly enough. Now we can add NBC's Quarterlife to the list of shows killed before their time. The series, coincidentally created by the My So-Called Life team of Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick, debuted on Tuesday at 10pm to 3.1 million viewers. That number just happens to be the lowest ratings NBC has had in that time slot in the past 17 years, which caused them to yank the show from the schedule immediately. Quarterlife was supposed to continue its run on Sundays beginning March 2, but now it looks like that slot will be filled by Dateline NBC.

'Quarterlife' Premieres Tonight

Quarterlife, an NBC web series that follows six creative twenty-somethings as they try to find their way through the world, is making its debut on the small screen tonight, filling in the network's 10pm timeslot. It will then begin airing on its regular timeslot on Sundays, 9-10pm, on March 2.

For those who are unfamiliar with Quarterlife, the show was created by Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick, the same men behind such successful series as thirtysomething and My So-Called Life. Launched last November MySpaceTV.com and quarterlife.com, the series contains eight-minute webisodes that explores universal human themes through the truthful depiction of the way young people speak, work, think, love, argue, and just have fun. It has an accompanying social network site that facilitates the same coming-of-age experience as the series.

NBC Sets New Premiere Date for 'Quarterlife'

NBC has recently made some changes in its spring schedule, consequently adding two new Mark Burnett-produced series and affecting the premiere date of the much awaited online-turned-broadcast series, Quarterlife.

Instead of taking the leap into the small screen on February 18, Quarterlife will now make its debut on Tuesday, February 26 at 10/9c before moving to its regular timeslot every Sunday at 9/8c beginning March 2.

Web Series 'Quarterlife' Makes the Leap to Television

Come February 18, the critically acclaimed internet series, Quarterlife, will make its official leap from the web to the small screen. From the team of Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, Quarterlife is a web series made up of 36 eight-minute webisodes that started broadcasting on MySpace last November 11.

NBC will turn those eight minute web stories into hour-long episodes, something Zwick is equally familiar with, having created past hit series like thirtysomething, My So-Called Life and Once & Again.
